There could be 6 or 7 SEC teams hosting regional games and at least 3 hosting super regionals. And as much as LSU has struggled this year there is only one SEC team LSU wouldn’t be even money to beat on a neutral field. That’s Florida.

There is very little separation among the next nine teams. But for Alabama, there is very little separation among the other six teams in the West.

LSU probably will not host a regional, but no regional host wants LSU in their bracket. The tigers probably clenched a spot in the playoffs with their win tonight. A win tomorrow puts them in for sure. They need to learn how to win on the road now. I think if they get in just about any bracket that doesn’t include Florida, LSU is good enough compared to the other SEC teams to make a run if they get hot at the right time. Arkansas is number one in the West, Ole Miss number two, and LSU would be even money to beat either of these teams.

I get your point, but no lsu would not be even money against arkansas or ole miss on a neutral field unless we had a huge pitching avantage on the mound and we wouldnt.

LSU took 2 of 3 from Arkansas and Ole Miss had to have a big comeback in the rubber match at Oxford to squeak out a one run game. But for that one run comeback win, Ole Miss and LSU would have identical SEC records right now.

Arkansas won the west, but they are historically a whipping boy for LSU and this year was no difference. LSU is the absolute last team Arkansas wants to see in their regional.

This is one of LSUs historically weaker teams, no doubt, but there in a three game match in a neutral field I don’t see any team in the West they wouldn’t be even money to beat. Which also means even money to lose to as well.

Arkansas fans are so used to losing to LSU, the smart ones would probably bet on the tigers.

I’m with you but our pitching simply isn’t good enough this year. I think our team ERA is something like 4.5. Last time it was over 4 was 2011 at 4.1 and we didn’t make post season that year. Hopefully Hess can get it together, Hilliard stays solid, and labas stays consistent and who knows how far we can go. Winning a regional wouldn’t surprise me but if I had to give a prediction I’d say an elite team in a super would out hit us
