quote:

singing their fricking alma mater is pandering, plain and simple

Pandering is doing or providing exactly what a person or group wants, especially when it is not acceptable or reasonable, usually in order to get some personal advantage.

Army didn't demand this, or even ask for it.

This ain't pandering, chief. It's being a mature and respectful person who is appreciative of the commitment the guys in the other uniform are making to serve all of us in a few years.

Like many things nowadays, I just don't understand how simply showing respect for athletes from any of our Service Acadamy is somehow a bad thing, even embarrassing. What exactly is the fricking harm?? If taking 30-60 seconds to stand & clap for these cadets ruins your TS experience, you have a problem. Not me or the thousands who will be doing so.

I'm a vet, in the military you respect the rank or position, not necessarily the person. I didn't always like the president but respect my commander in chief. Our country was strong when that was understood.

Fun fact: More LSU graduates served as Army officers in WWII than did West Point graduates.

And don’t bother trying to explain it to them. They know everything.

For many of us who’ve done a career in the Army it’s fing disgusting. First these cadets have not served one day in the Army. They’re in school. Secondly when they get out they’re immediately told how much better they are than everyone else and think they don’t have to listen to anyone. Those who stay past captain, one out of five are competent and all can expect to be promoted without effort because they went to this FN school.

So thanks for doing what I’ve seen done for these pampered punks for 20 years. Signed a prior service career officer who worked for his commission. Go give them your daughters and do a fundraiser for their beer money at their first duty station while you’re at it LSU. Disgusting. I’m not goi to the game because I’m disgusted by this BS.
