The only possible person I can think of is Jeryl Brazil, and he is still in high school.

Simon, and it's really not close. Y'all know how fricked we are if he goes down?

i think montgomery is the best player and most natural leader on the LSU team.. but LSU can pug in and pay anyone on the D line they are so loaded.
i am sticking with Reid here. he's absolutely crucial. especially now with young corners in.

So if OBJ goes down, we lose our #1 WR and punt returner...Which receiver do we have proven that can fill his shoes? Hmmmmm
Every RB, WR, and CB on the roster was probably the return man on their High School team. I'm sure someone can take care of the duties. We're not sure what the other WR's are capable of b/c of the QB's we've had over the past couple years.

Eric Reid fo sho with Loston right behind, if both stay healthy, good luck getting past that third level

Eric Reid easily
I wonder if there will be defensive packages where Reid
lines up at olb to stop the run vs certain teams. That way
Reid, Loston, and Eugene can be on the field at the same
time.

My honest opinion
1. Mett (based on the pure lack of depth)
2. Reid (Monster safety and we'll need him to make even more plays with Mathieu gone)
3. Montgomery (His motor is out of this world and sets the tone for our D)
4. Logan (There's a reason why he wears 18, great guy and the leader of our D)
5. Faulk (Arguably the best LT in the nation and an absolute road grader)
6. Mingo (Anyone who watched last year saw Mingo wreck so much havoc it was insane, not just his sacks but his constant QB pressure caused a ton of turnovers)
7. Minter (We have a talented LB group but they are very green, he is a great run stopper and you need that to be successful in the SEC)
8. Simon (There's a reason why you didn't hear his name a lot last season, he is a great cover corner and with his size he can match up against ANY WR in the country)
9. Wing (Yes a punter, he flips the field every time his foot touches the ball)
10. Odell (Big time playmaker but and a leader on the O but honestly I think Landry is our best WR this year)

Well I guess I was wrong...
I think Mett needs OBJ to be successful.
We need a home run threat on Punt returns...you can not just throw anyone back there...
the majority have spoken, it's Reid

Just imagine if Claiborne, brockers and randle would have stayed

op didn't ask who's the best players. simon and faulk are top 5 in terms of importance imo
Posted on 8/17/12 at 8:23 pm to ApexTiger
sounds like he's your favorite player. football being a team game, i would reject any one player being the most important with the exception of the starting qb.

Whoever starts at corner opposite Simon.

And if PP had redshirted as a Freshman he would have been a senior this year and also if TM hadn't done drugs. The D would have been pretty sick!
