It's a personal preference, I've played baseball my whole life.

You need a certain skill set to play basketball and be good at it.

Tall, super athletic, and be able to jump high.

I didn't have any of those features growing up.

Baseball is much more of a thinking sport than basketball, wayyyyyyyyyyyy more strategy.

Plus is my opinion the NBA and some College Basketball players are a buncha pussies who didn't want to play football because they were afraid of getting hurt

I do feel bad for the players when they come out to some of the early season crowds. At least most folks stay the whole game.

What I was trying to say was you can't force people to watch something they don't enjoy,, so until the lsu basketball team makes it enjoyable, there won't be fans to pack the place

Do you realize that many of the "Boxtards" also post in the basketball in game threads?

Awesome. What does that prove?

I think a better indicator fan support is to compare Facebook likes. I'm embarrassed to post the results but you're welcome to check it out

I've attended two out of the three home basketball games this season. You?

Is it not?

I still play baseball today but half the time of the 4 hours I'm out there is frankly boring.

I hear you Zealot. I became interested in LSU basketball while living in Bay St. LOuis when Pistol Pete was playing. When we moved to Gonzales , La. Press was on his way out and Daddy Dale was coming in. I had lost interest in Basketball till my cousin moved down from North Carolina and got me re-interested in LSU basketball and started going when the Hustlers were playing, I.e. Glenn Hanson, Wade Evans, Mike Darnell, Eddy Palubinskis and Collis Temple with Ed Leblanc coming off the bench to relieve Collis Temple. I think Basketball tickets were something like $3.00 back then. Very small crowds but enjoyed watching them play and needless to say Daddy Dale had LSU going to the NCAA pretty regularly when I was at LSU from 1979 till I graduated in 1983. The point is, at least IMO, Johnny JOnes is building the program once again and I do believe that you will begin to see the PMAC once again filling up and excited about basketball when they start climbing up in the top 20. Also baseball was absolutely nothing when I was at LSU. YOu could show your student ID and sit absolutely where ever you wanted because no one and I mean no one went to the games except for a few hundered students sitting out in the bleachers catching some rays while studying and maybe Big Red "Tiger Bait" and a few other older gentlemen behind home plate. Needless to say Skip changed all that when he came in and I truly believe that Johnny Jones will get the Tiger fans once again excited about basketball.

Someone clearly doesn't follow the sport very well.

I happen to enjoy it. Its relaxing and postseason baseball is fantastic. I enjoy all lsu sports though, and if the basketball team wins more you'll see more people willing to talk about it. SoS does a great job promoting the basketball team too.

Didn't you ask earlier why people can't support both teams? I think my previous statement proves that people do support both teams.

Name 3 programs out of 300 where basketball is the 3rd most popular sport.

LSU

ULL

That's 3 just in this state.

I would say that's a pretty limited amount of data points. But that's not the point I was trying to make anyway.

Just want more fans to care about our team. They work their arse off, appear to have tons of potential including a tournament run, and they deserve to have more support.

I care about them, I just told someone an hour ago that I was excited about the basketball game tomorrow night.

I just like baseball better.
