Depends on how the next coach does for me. If we are in a decade long shite storm because the program fell off of a mountain, he will be a villian.

If the next coach has success and we return to winning, he will be remember for his 2019 Natty.

Here’s how I’ll remember him:

He loved the university and fought his arse off for us.

He built the greatest team of all time and brought the greatest player in LSU history to LSU when other guys like Tom Herman, Jimbo Fisher and Scott Frost passed on Joe.

He also was simply not able to sustain the success and once he got a taste he went down in flames.

He let it go to his head and he wasn’t able to manage success to keep his head above water.

While he has flamed out very quickly he left the cubbard stocked for the next guy.

I hope O has a plaque outside of the stadium one day and receives a huge standing ovation when he walks out onto the field in 2029.

Things happen. Sometimes supernovas burn out. It doesn’t mean it wasn’t spectacular while it lasted.

We have a frick load of talent everywhere but Oline.

The next guy loses and that’s not on O, just like his success isn’t credited to Les

Neither.

But, the longer this goes on, the more he'll be looked at with contempt

Man he’s just a football coach. One who did a lot of very good things in the beginning then a lot of very poor things towards the end. It’s not exactly a unique story.

Most May not recall, but (former) LSU safeties coach Bill Busch was the one that primarily recruited Joe Burrow. Busch was brought in by Aranda and left in Feb 2021 to return to Nebraska. No word on why he left but being an assistant to Pelini during 2020 seems like it would be related.

A villain? Really? Give me a break.

How is he a villain? Hes not maliciously/intentionally destroying the program. I think its pretty clear he doesn't know what he is doing at all.

Well he sold himself on a model of not taking a high salary and running the programs on the highest paid coordinators.

As soon as he saw some success, he went ahead and took a salary that was A) Against the reason he was hired and B) Contradicted the actual success that happened and C) Put the program in a tough spot directly and D) Didn't allow us to actually run that strategy.

So yeah, he lied, sold the college a bill of goods and a plan that he didn't intend on delivering. Villain.

Alleva's the villain. He should've known better and hired O because his ego was hurt.

I don't blame O for taking the job. He is what he is, I didn't expect him to be any more than that.

Neither hero or villain. He'll be remembered as a dumb shite who fell into a championship despite being a retarded meathead.

Eh, or we remember that 2019 was all Aranda, Brady and Burrow and that O pretty much fell into the role

O hired Brady
O promoted E
O brought in Burrow when everyone else passed
O recruited and signed: Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Terrace Marshall, Damien Lewis, Sahdiq Charles, Ed Ingram, Thad Moss, Klavon Chaisson, Rashard Lawrence, Glenn Logan, Patrick Queen, Jacob Phillips, Derek Stingley, Jacoby Stevens, Cade York and Grant Delpit.

Obviously he has failed but you’re fricking moron if you don’t think he gets credited for 2019.

You’re also a jackass if you think the only reason we won was because of 2 coordinator and a QB. That team produced the most nfl picks ever in 1 draft, 5 first rounders and that doesn’t include Derek Stingley, Jamar Chase, Terrace Marshall and Cade York.

He gets credit for 2019. Obviously and anyone who says “he fell into it” then why the frick has no one else ever fallen into that season?

Y’all act like he hasn’t produced top 5 classes every single year too.

It’s time for him to go but be honest

You want to see the posts and threads why we shouldn’t hire him?

I’ve got several with people predicting nearly exactly what happened here.

He frick over Miles and won games that Miles would have won except he lost to UF and Miles wouldn’t have done that.

fricker and Alleva TALKED shite AND THEN frickED US FOR 2 frickING YEARS TO GO THERE AND PLAY.

Then there was the whole
HE NEVER BEAT A P5 TEAM WITH A RUSH DEFENSE LESS THAN 100 LEADING UP TO HIS HIRE. HE GOT US 120 YARDS TOTAL OFFENSE VS BAMA. BAMA WAS THE ONLY TEAM WITH A PULSE.

Why was the rush defense important? HE HAD GUICE AND FOURNETTE WITH A MILES OLINE!!!.

HE WAS HIRED BY A IMMATURE MORON.

I suspect it will depend on his replacement.
If history holds true, as soon as the new HC goes on a losing streak, Orgeron will be remembered for his good years by some Ranters.

He didn't win crap. Burrow, Aranda and Brady did that.

If he "won" anything, actually had a hand in it, we wouldn't be the shitpile we're in now.

It's disturbing that people still think he had anything to do with 2019. I think if he lucked up and beat Bama people like you would say give him another year.

He signed the paperwork, sure. He didn't identify or probably even sell Brady.

quote:

O promoted E

Was a mistake in 2017-2018

quote:

O brought in Burrow when everyone else passed

Maybe, a lot of people had input and Burrow was a former 5-star. He sold the program well, but that's not an $8.4m skill.

quote:

O recruited and signed: Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Terrace Marshall, Damien Lewis, Sahdiq Charles, Ed Ingram, Thad Moss, Klavon Chaisson, Rashard Lawrence, Glenn Logan, Patrick Queen, Jacob Phillips, Derek Stingley, Jacoby Stevens, Cade York and Grant Delpit.

O is a good recruiter, I'll give him that.

Obviously he has failed but you’re fricking moron if you don’t think he gets credited for 2019.

He gets some credit, but again, he didn't run the program like he advertised. At all. He fell into 2019 success far more than he controlled and willed it.

quote:

You’re also a jackass if you think the only reason we won was because of 2 coordinator and a QB. That team produced the most nfl picks ever in 1 draft, 5 first rounders and that doesn’t include Derek Stingley, Jamar Chase, Terrace Marshall and Cade York.

Agree to disagree. Look at O's career... and tell me that 2019 was a predictable event based solely on his abilities.

He gets credit for 2019. Obviously and anyone who says “he fell into it” then why the frick has no one else ever fallen into that season?

Because Saban does it year after year after year. Dabo does that same. Real high level coaches are consistent. Some level of consistency shows that what they do as coaches works.

O has 0 consistency. None.

quote:

Y’all act like he hasn’t produced top 5 classes every single year too.
Again, O is a good recruiter, yes.

quote:

It’s time for him to go but be honest

I am being honest. All indicators point to O being a subpar coach that lucked into 2019 more than he constructed it from the ground up as a high level, consistent performing program.

He deserves credit for 2019 because he was the one who signed off on everything. He deserves criticism for what has happened since. Overall, due to one magical season I would say he deserves to be considered a hero for what has happened on the field.

Off the field he will be retiring as a multimillionaire who is nailing blondes with big tits left and right. Again a hero!!!!

I would say everyone on this board would happily trade places with O because of 2019 and his off the filed accomplishments.
