I don’t think Linehan will have the influence Brady had. O believes Ensminger can keep the offense Brady I stalled going

It’s not a terrible plan. I would Have preferred someone with more college offensive experience.

This hire doesn’t amaze me, but if it doesn’t work we know that O is going to do what needs to be done and try again.

And as much as we want to say we ran the saints offense there are still a lot of differences. There are serious saints elements but the saints still huddle, they still take snaps under center (mostly in the running game)

We ran almost everything out of 11 with the same guys where as the saints run a lot of different personnel groups (a lot)

Brady did a good job translating it to take advantage of the college game.

Orgeron will get the NFL talent here, he’s built the staff to make sure they develop. He’s got the ring, and now a resume that can’t be argued against. We’re going to be fine, we have been on an uphill trend since he got the job. To have 9 combined losses in your first 3 years (7 if you don’t include interim) is pretty impressive. I’m excited to see what he does next

NFL talent is still 18 when it gets here.

They’re still only here 3-4 years

The bottom line is that new LSU's passing game coordinator has NFL experience at the highest level. Nobody can say that this was a weak hire. They can say that they don't like it but they cant say it was weak.

To me, this hire was all about hiring someone to bring in new concepts to keep us at the forefront in terms of innovation within our scheme. Linehan has a wealth of knowledge from the nfl and that’s not even debatable. He should be able to introduce new wrinkles to our system that benefit our personnel. Other teams in this league will be scouting the hell out of us this offseason to try and stop us, but this will give them a lot more to try and scheme against. In short, O knows what he’s doing.

This hire is about tweaking the approach to better utilize the running back talent we will be having next year. This is a good thing and further complicates the opposing teams defensive preparations.

you may be right. we have some outstanding RB's and some games we will NEED them to win. Clyde's performance against Florida and Bama last year probably is the reason we won. i say we set up the run with the pass but be capable of winning with the run when the other team is good enough to slow down our pass game

That's an interesting point. Maybe O realizes that Burrow was a "lightening in the bottle" type player and he can't expect to be a predominantly passing team. And, although CEH had a great season he wanted the offense to be able to grind it out when necessary.

Linehan could help bridge that gap and being able to sustain drives as some have stated will prevent the D from getting fatigued. I know that doesn't necessarily jive with the title PGC, but who knows. I'm not a fan of the hire, but I'm willing to see how it plays out.

With changes at QB, RB, PGC, DC and others there will be a long list of targets for the rant to strike if the season isn't spectacular. Of course O will top the list as the HC. Most people predict a drop off in 2020 to a 10-2 type season, but I'm sure the first loss and the knives will come out.

2021 we will be back in the CFP.

I suspect there will be more of a run game and play action. I'm OK with the PGC hire. I hope he works these guys like Brady did. The catching consistency this season was something I haven't seen in a WR corp.

I think more of a run game will help keep some pressure off of Myles physically and mentally. He will have a lot of self inflicted pressure on himself because he know the many of the LSU fans will have high expectations.

Putting more load on the RB's will help with that.

Pgc will offer input to the OC. Pgc will continue to develop receivers.

I’m trusting O.

You mean Ensminger did a great job converting the Saint's offense Brady brought with him to work for the college game.

No I do Not.

We saw what E’s crack at an offense looked like in 2018.

Talk to any Dallas Cowboys fan and they'll tell you that Linehan may be many things, but innovative sure as hell ain't one of them.

So you would prefer someone with college offensive experience instead of 2 decades of NFL offensive experience?

Thats like saying id prefer a little league catcher on your travel team instead of a 9th grader

You don't bring a guy to coach the offense we had last year but rather the team with skill sets we have in 2020. May this Scott was brought in for that reason.
