Because you have LSU fans like us and 85-90% of the board then you have these ignorant fanboys who idolize individuals and project their insecurities onto them. If you and I have a discussion about a player or coach we can have a back and forth knowing that we might leave things out or not see things the other might see. These two shite birds don’t think that way. For example Pirate hates every other coach at LSU for no reason other than his obsession with O and Purple wants his opinion to be true so bad that he’s like a kid with fingers in his ears screaming la, la, la so he doesn’t have to face reality.

The defense was bad but it didn't have anything to do with that statement that you haters all always cite ad nauseam deliberately only to vilify and demonize Ed O out of context relative to reality.
The defense was bad last season because of the Covid Pandemic, but not because of what Ed O said like a day before Spring Practice was cancelled.

Nonetheless, I don't care which 4 - 3 DC Ed O would have hired last season. Given all the circumstances that altogether occurred last year with the cancellation of spring practice, summer workouts and player run practices, and the abbreviated fall camp and the fact that football had to be taught via Zoom and without any practice reps, that whoever it was wouldn't have fared any better than Pelini.

It's the way he said what he said. That's what I'm trying to convey. As a HC, to say "this defense is better than 2019" when we won a natty and setting the entire fanbase up for huge expectations, isn't smart.
I'm not talking about the why the defense was bad and so forth. I'm referring to the way O phrased it going a few weeks before the first game. It's not a smart move on his part.

It sets up unfair expectations to the fanbase because a majority of the fanbase will run with what he said because he's the HC. Just like they did when he said the defense last season was better than the 2019 season.
It also puts unnecessary pressure on Max. The entire comment is unnecessary.
To critique that, is not hating the guy. I never once said I hated O. Show me where I did.

He gets jealous when any coach gets attention because on his sick mind he thinks it takes praise away from O. He hated Aranda too, said if we didn’t fire him during the season in 2019 we’d never get to the playoffs. He repeated that every week.
