you cannot say definitively he would have won 10 games again in any upcoming season.
And you can't say he wouldn't have.
But there's evidence to suggest that he could have.
What evidence exists that suggests he wouldn't have?

Interesting given wasn’t it you that said you hate idiotic posts?
I do hate idiotic posts, but his was a bunch of straight up facts (their records) and some opinion to get the haters going.
For that, it was not idiotic. It was great.
And it kept you intertained for a good bit, too.
HTown, its all good.

dam I wish so bad I could get into this today. But I got to get stuff done today. Ya'll have fun

This was my point....when he was let go....there was no way to determine nor any reason to believe he might return to those winning ways...in the future.
I don't know how you think you can use a piece of data 7/8 years old to say definitively he will win 10 again. He clearly wasn't the same coach and the 19-10 record proves if nothing else, he was trending down.

Yes, of something that happened in the past.

Once it again...it called speculation....not fact... when predicting the future.
you're grasping at straws.

The powers that be and most of the fan base disagreed.

only because some of you have forgotten that your stance during his tenure was that 10 wins wasnt good enough.
one thing though, me personally didn't want miles gone for 10 win seasons
quote:
you wanted miles gone after winning at least 10 games in 2010, 2011, 2012,2013, and 2015( miles doesnt lose to mid majors)
I didn't want Miles gone after any of those years because I kept believing that the light was certainly at some point going to come on for him and that he was going to change his view on offenses.
I really didn't want him gone until he was gone, the auburn game, and even then wasn't thrilled with it. But felt by then that I guess he never was going to change.
I just couldn't understand how he didn't see the offense was a problem. [(edit) And I felt that was going to prevent the team to ever getting back to the top]
Also things like constant corner kicks on kickoffs that kept going out of bounds and giving the team the ball at the 35. How is it even possible not to see that that was a problem and to say maybe I should have him kick down the middle or change kickers? Maybe he changed that by 2016, not sure, but how could a coach go on for so long doing that that has any sanity? Not that that was a reason to let him go but dam, I liked his eccentricity, but could he have at least been normal in certain areas like this?
OK you boys have fun, I really have to stop looking at this today, later.

Well most everything in life is in its purest essence, speculation.
We don't know that we'll live to see tomorrow, but that doesn't mean we can't expect it based on any number of factors.

Well so what? One of the powers that be is a certified idiot and will be out of work soon. And fans get things wrong frequently.

Hey, I didn't think O would have the wheels fall off of the team that quickly last year. I was wrong on that. Also didn't see him beating Auburn, though he was damn lucky they happened to be honoring the 07 NC team, who lit a fire under them.
So I've been wrong on things.
So I've been wrong on things.

0 almost went 7-1 his first full year in SEC
He went 1-7 in his first full year in SEC at Ole Miss, thank goodness he was able to beat that 3-8 Kentucky team 13-7
Much closer to going 4-4 than 7-1 in his first full year in SEC at LSU.

so have I. But miles was trending....despite what Rick says...and there was no indication...AT THAT TIME..things would change. the fact that he was refusing to update the offense shows a level of stubbornness that makes no sense to me at all.
Posted on 4/27/18 at 12:12 pm to RedTigerRulz
It really just amounts to Miles not being Alleva's guy. If he were, he'd still be here because the bottom line was still acceptable.

Probably yes...but 3 things...
1. Could not beat Bama
2. Offensive stubbornness
3. Back to back marginal seasons...by his standards

there was no indication that it wouldnt change either EXCEPT THAT HE HAD ALREADY DONE IT before. there is far more evidence that he wouldve been winning 10 games again and there is zero evidence that he wouldn't.
you need to stick to your stance that 10 wins isnt good enough at lsu instead of acting like winning 10 was impossible. i know why youre doing it and its easy to see. youre claiming miles couldnt get to 10 wins so that if o gets to 10 wins you can claim it as a success after years of shitting on 10 wins.

so you're implying that that was a direct causal connection between 2008/09 seasons and subsequent rebound and what MIGHT happen in the future.
Great.
