Of course. The offense made A&M burn its timeouts and the defense had to do its job and hold what had been an extremely inept Mond for 1:29.
How about just getting ONE 1st down and the game would have been over...................

Perhaps. The offense did gain 8 yards on a first down pass play. But the decision not to run the ball on second and/or third down was really stupid.

The defense held them for almost the entire second half.
The offense did very well for almost the entire second half...

4. A&M ran the ball very well in the first half with Trayveon Williams and established a physical tone as they doubled up LSU in rushing yardage 114-54. Tigers’ quarterback Joe Burrow was able to offset via the quarterback counter to the backside of RPOs but otherwise they couldn’t do much via their running backs.

The second half was a different story. A&M scored a touchdown off of a muffed punt but it was the Tigers who spent the time pushing A&M around and getting blocks to turn the corner with A&M’s defense worried about Burrow.

Sure, but A$M was the 2nd ranked defense vs the run. A lot easier said than done.
You play to your strength, and it failed.

Do you have something against Aranda????????????????????

These people hate Aranda because he rightfully gets more praise than 0.

Did I say something about Aranda?
You can say the defense did well in the second half, except for one drive.
You can also say the offense did well in the second half, except for one drive.
The same posters keep making the same claims that it's all on the offense - it isn't. It was a team breakdown.

OK that's cool.... How about running the pass with your running back in that situation instead of waiting to do it in OT?????
They would have never saw it coming and it would have won the game................ Sometimes you have to be smarter than the coach across from you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

No one hates Aranda. He's a top ten coordinator

I didn't say they played badly. I asked why couldn't they be the ones to win the game for the defense for a change?

You understand ZERO about college football...............

Both the offense and the defense played very well in the second half until the last 2:40. The special teams hurt them in the second half with the fumble.
The same group of posters continually place all of the blame on the offense, but the offense had a good game. The strategy was to run to force A&M to use it's timeouts (a strategy Sean Payton would be smart to use). That left A&M with 1:29, no timeouts, 79 yards away and needing a touchdown. The odds are strongly in LSU's favor in that scenario.

Aranda is a great DC. But you might want to ask Topwater Trout about people "hating" Aranda.
That guy really seems to have the red arse as far as Aranda is concerned.

Probably thinks he's overpaid, which is kind of subjective.

He’s not top 10, he’s the best DC in the country. Since he’s been a DC only Sabans Ds have had better numbers and that’s at 2 different schools so he’s not relying on LSU’s talent to achieve his spot.

That would make him top ten

We can argue semantics on where he ranks exactly. Too many variables to say either way. He's in the elite class of DCs.
He's paid the way he's paid because the head coach did not feel confident that he could find a replacement that could approximate his performance for less money. If he could, he would've let him go to A&M.

And he isn’t overpaid, without him we’d be a bad team. 5 losses at least this season, more last season. There’s a reason he’s paid the way he is.
