Extreme negativity of our half dozen or so curmudgeons is a mental weakness.

Why does one side 1) Immediately go to broad generalizations 2) Always make the insults first, and make them really personal 3) Make personal assumptions that basically equate to things like "You feel this way about Ed O, so your life must be horrible!!!!"

Football is not that serious man. LSU football can look unimpressive and lack upward momentum, but that should have no bearing on ANY of our day to day lives. If that was the case for anyone, I'd feel sorry for them.

Are you splitting into teams here?

Extreme and constant negativity is a sign of mental weakness.

Fine one "set" of people. Although the broad generalizations come from Ben, yourself, Alxpin (now), Buckeye Joe. 2 of those in the other big thread today. And you in here.

I don't see any extreme negativity about O. No one is saying we are going 0-11 this year. And you can't say constant about anyone on this board unless you know them outside of this board.

Therefore, you make an assumption that they are "extreme and constant" in their negativity in everything. We're all just normal people here, there's no need to get dramatic with this being about a philosophical view on life. It's discussing a controversial LSU football coach and nothing more.

Is it not fair to characterize people by the nature of their posts?

Say this guy named "Thawed" posted with 90% of the posts negative in some way. Wouldn't it be fair to put that guy in a category?

Hmmm, interesting.

So the fans say it, we're obsessed with Bama.

He says it, I'm sure it's ok.

Yep. It’s called reality. I’m glad Orgeron doesn’t have his head up his arse about it. He’s smart enough to realize bama is our biggest competition and we have to beat them to win our division.

I’ve never understood why some posters simply don’t get it. You have to beat whoever stands in your way. They stand in our way.

Does this make Orgeron a rantard?

I don’t see anyone really criticize Orgeron. I believe anyone who is skeptical genuinely wants to be wrong.

It’s just a message board. No need for anyone to call others derogatory names as some have done.

My point was that our head coach acknowledged the very thing several
Of us have been insulted for saying. I’ve been told I was bamassessed bc I’ve said we needed to beat them.

They’re the standard. Like it or not. Acknowledging that and being aware that we need to overtake them is a pretty logical view. Still, some posters just insult others for saying it. It’s quite an interesting behavior

Same here. I said it and I'm obsessed. The coach says it and everyone's like "right on!"

Just shows you the cult mentality that afflicts some on here.

I agree. It’s ridiculous. I’m glad Orgeron isn’t running from the challenge. No need to pretend it’s not the current landscape. He just needs to change it. I respect him for owning that it’s his responsibility to do it.

Either he will or we move on. Good days ahead either way for the Tigers. Woodward won’t tolerate mediocrity. Orgeron is embracing the expectation. Good for him for doing so.

Nah just paranoid. 100% of the fanbase realizes that Bama is the biggest obstacle.

Alabama isn’t just one damn game, it’s the domination that exists over LSU, it must be addressed and dealt with, one way or the other. Can’t make it any clearer than that.

We still don't have an elite OLINE. Joe Brady and Ensminger will have to call the game of their lives, and our offense have zero turnovers.
