Was the vehicle "rented" for him by someone affiliated with the university and is this ok to do?

tigerBilltd, You already know the answer to this question or you would of not asked it. I have already explained this in great length on the main thread about Cliff Harris. If you wish to lie, then lie. If you wish to know the truth, then go read it. As per the NCAA one cannot receive improper benefits. He never received such because he paid for the rental, for those 2 extra days of the rental, pooling his money with 3 other guys. So they did not get anything for free if they actually paid for it. The lady has bank receipts that prove this. As far as he working for UO, she did not work for the athletic department. But I think you will easily find in a small town with a large university that many work for the university. Thus you may have friends or neighbors that work there. I see no NCAA rule that says you have to avoid those people or not be friends with any of them. She had her car brake down on her but was planning a trip. They wanted to go on a trip too, but a little further so they all road together, and dropped her off, and paid her for continuing to use her rental car for 2 freaking extra days. The fact that she is a young woman who happens to get a paycheck from some department of the University is irrelevant.

But since you probably have nothing better to do I am sure you will spin all this to high heaven. And because you are from the SEC and are used to much corruption, I know you will assume the worst in every case. Not so my friend. Out West thing are done differently.

Kinda like you assuming....

1) The cop is an OSU fan?
2) The cop didn't know who Harris was?
3) That we'd care to know ANYthing about Oregon

Damn, beat me to it.

Or his assumption that I live in LA. Or that LSU fans have never lived in different parts of the country.

So you are admitting your state is full of corruption and, basically, a bunch of idiots?

Bison, don't say that. You don't know that. You do not know if Cliff will be in the game vs LSU or not. So how can you even remotely reach and claim that? You may desire that, but you do not personally know this as a fact, so don't say so. How about everyone just take a Chill Pill and relax and wait and just see if Cliffy will be in the game or not. I personally am going to lead a campaign to fire Chip if Cliffy get suspended. Well, no, not really cause I like Chip too much. But if he does, it will greatly piss me off! And I think Cliff has 80 percent odds that he does not miss the full game.

And whats with you LSU fans? Didn't you just have a coach or something that got caught paying a player or something? And you are making the biggest issues out of a 20 year old kid taking a joy ride and speeding with hardly any other cars on the road(according to OSP). Give me a f'in break.

So did Harris pay for the rental or not? People here say he did but ESPN just reported he did not pay for the rental.

Hey, I am a nice guy so I will make it really simple. All I ask is there be no excuses after we beat you in September. Each time we beat a SEC team they always have the same excuses and they get real old.

1)Blame the officiating
2)If only their injured player was in the game
3)we cheated somehow
4)they just had a off day, but if they played again they would easily win
5)they were just young, you only played us when we were down

And other normal SEC logic.
1) Pac10 team is no good
2) SEC will pound them
3) When Pac10 team wins, the SEC played very badly since the Pac10 team is no good

My needs are simple. All I ask is no excuses. I am sure most of you will not be on TD after the game. But for those that are, no excuses, of any kind whatsoever.

I may say this, but come back the week following and you will see those 5 excuses I listed over and over and over and over. You can bank on that because of the SEC logic I just listed above.

As far as I know, that is what the employee is saying. However, Oregon is doing their fact checks as we speak.

Look Jackass, bottom line is this.

A. He had no damn Driving license.
B. He should never been allowed to drive a vehicle
C. Cop stated cause of lack of traffic on the road their is no cercern of reckless endangerment.

First off protecting an idiot only makes you look like one. Here at LSU if TM or RR get arrested we want his arse thrown out of school, not make excuses about it. How in the hell is he driving without a damn license anyways. You call us dumb, better look in that duck mirror first. Lastly, the RE charge! For a police officer to say there were no other cars on the road, so no RE charge, this is just lazy IMHO, If he was driving recklessly, the fact of cars not being on the road makes no difference. Going in excess of 100 MPH by definition is recklessly endangering your own personal life.

Who have u beat?
AU-nope
Tenn-yes (they suck anyways)

When a damn title then run your mouth, until then go play some hockey and STFU

I do not know for sure. But the local media or interviews the girl said the girl said the guys paid her for the rental. So I just assumed Cliffy was one of the guys. There were 3 other guys in that car, 2 of which were UO football players. I personally do not care who payed. I was under the assumption that all shared the costs. But if only the older licensed driver did, thats fine too. As long as it was not free for them and their little trip its all cool. In a month this will be a non story.

As far as ESPN reporting this, do you have a link? And btw, the older guy may of handed her the money but that does not necessarily mean he did not collect everyone's share and they all pooled together and they gave their share to him and he payed her. As he was the licensed driver and to her the only one supposed to drive the car. But even if it works out that non of the guys chipped in to the older guy who made the arrangement with her, I am fine with that. As what do you expect? One cannot ride with a friend? This whole witch-hunt is kind of Juvenal.

We're 12-2 against the PAC-howevermany, or the conference formerly known as "USC and the Little Sisters of Charity" - and one of those losses, against the aforementioned USC, was an official-assisted win.

I call them like I see them - I see Oregon, Bama and Florida as our toughest games. Oregon just played in the big game. Ya'll run an unconventional offense which causes many opponents problems.

That said, we are going to kick the living $hit out of the Ducks and then make Duck and Andouille Gumbo (look it up).

Ok? Are you going to be there Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 at 7:00pm local time? Otherwise it doesn't matter when you are going to be in Dallas.

I don't ever make excuses for losing OR players that break the law.....

Look in mirror my friend.

I'll be on TD...win or lose......but we will NOT lose to the Ducks.

We're the idiots, but he condones a person driving over 100 mph? Pyan Perilloux is a prime case. He fought=susp. He entered a Casino with a fake ID=susp. Was not attending class=Off the team. People who do not learn from mistakes are doomed to repeat them. How many does Cliff get before he messes up bigtime?
