I might as well just wait on next season then.

No they will not be.

I think Oregon will be tough because of the tempo they run their offense. Also it will be the first game of the year. As for talent I believe we outclass them. I also feel that our talent level will work against Oregon since it is their first game also. If we can drive the length of the field methodically and keep our D rested we could win by 20+ points IMO.

Topwater Trout ... You da' man, bro

Tell it like it really is!

This is the best post in this thread!

LSU isn't going to overlook this team. LSU will play like its the BCSCG in New Orleans ... That beatdown we left on poor A&M is only going to be reproduced again.

I'm calling it ... 2 turnovers early & 14 point halftime lead ... LSU 35 - 17

There is probably a 75% chance that the outcome of this game will be a poor indication of who is the better team. What are the chances that early season mistakes don't have a pivotal bearing on the outcome of this game. I always prefer a cupcake first to shake out the cobwebs.

Auburn's d was brutal against the run last year. I think it's hard to argue that. I mean LSU didn't even get 250 against them.

did you see LSU's offense last year?

Auburn defense was 60th in total defense last year and LSU was 12th. Which D is better? And that 12th rated defense was on the field more than it should have been and had to defend short fields b/c of LSU's inept offense. If LSU can have a dominating ball control offensive unit the defense will be dominant.

No disrespect to Oregon but they got shut down by Tenn for a half and Auburn for the entire game. SEC D-lines are not like the ones out west. Most experts say that D-line is where the sec outclasses other conferences... and LSU is known to produce some talented d-linemen.

I'm not that concerned about Oregon, Actually. I'm more concerned about having to play AT West Virginia later in the season. That is a major trap game, and I wouldn't be surprised if our guys go into that game sleepwalking. West Virginia almost beat us last year, they're gonna be better and more explosive this year, and

LSU is going to be softer than Auburn in the interior. Like it or not, that is a fact. Oregon runs a lot of inside zone read and Auburn took that away from us completely. I don't care how good your pass d is because we are a run dominant team. Most fans here don't think that LMJ can run between the tackles because of the Auburn game. It's simply not true.

You need to remember that the same Tenn defense was "begging for mercy" in the second half. One d-lineman pleaded with an Oregon offensive lineman to slow the pace down so he wouldn't puke on the field.

Tenn wasn't in good enough shape to be on the field with Oregon for 60 minutes. If we shorten the games to 30 minutes you've got a point. Having talent means playing 60 minutes, not 30. They simply didn't have the talent or conditioning to stay with Oregon for a full game.

First of all, you don’t bleed purple and gold, you bleed illiteracy…

LSU has shown time and time again, that with time to prepare, the can play with the best and win. Even if Oregon were the best, LSU is going to be prepared.

Tell me one more time how this game is going be more tough than walking into Alabama on mid-season legs?

So Oregon will face a tougher d-line than LSU has this year?

I have never said he can't and I hope he does. SEC d-line speed is on another level.

My point is that in 3 of the 4 halves that Oregon played against SEC defenses they were stopped.

Where did this question come from? I said your interior will be softer than Auburn's last year. It's hard to argue that and it probably isn't even close. They had two senior DT and a senior Mike. Do you really think that Downs/Brokers with Hatcher/Minter at the MIKE has the same run stuffing capabilities as Fairly, Clayton and Bynes at the MIKE. I am just saying don't expect to stuff the run for 2.2 yards per carry.

Tennessee didn't stop Oregon in the first half. We had 13 points and over 200 yards of offense. Try again.

Look I have respect for Oregon but the bottomline is LSU will play 5 or 6 other teams with more talent than Oregon. The thing that scares me about Oregon is the gimmick offense. That is it. Oregons talent is no better than middle of the pack SEC teams. I know it is your team and you may take that as disrespect but it is the truth.

Bottomline is the game can go either way. I think LSU may show the nation again why the SEC is head and heels above every other conference with a convincing win. Just my opinion.

Under Miles LSU looks best when they have fresh legs and time to prepare for a team.

I can't argue that

You just need to hope for the ducks sake that Kragthorpe doesn't have the offense fixed.
