Louisville had some good defensive linemen who made the left side of our line look pretty bad.

Yep. 3 man rush was constantly getting in the backfield. Before his long run, Guice was averaging around 3 yds/carry.

Never understood why the media always praises the OL. It sucks and needs major work.

AVG for most of the game. Finally got a push to give Guice a little room, but pass protection was inconsistent. As a group they bring back more starters, and as a group they MUST improve more than any others if we are going to compete for a conf title/NC next season. OL sets the pace....start working today boys! GT!

Schizophrenic.

One series they look like world beaters and the next series they appear to enjoy the RB's getting beaten.

Consistency is a word I hope we use a lot next year

They are very up and down, and struggle in short yardage and pass protecting at the edges. I think just getting guys where they actually belong will go light years in terms of fixing the problems. We need a real center who is built to get leverage at the position (Dodd, Brumfield, or Clapp), 2 maulers at Guard (1 needs to be Tehuma), and most important of all, Tackles who aren't Guards. Getting Weathersby back healthy is huge. Now we just either. Time for Malone to step it up, or for Deculus to come in and hold down RT and move Weathersby to LT.

There is depth and talent in this O Line roster. They just need to get more true Tackles so they aren't having to play guys out of position anymore. Grimes has a year to prove that it was Miles' meddling and not his coaching they was holding the group back. If the O Line struggles again next year, he's almost certainly out.

Grimes needs to find another home; hope Canada makes that a priority.

I don't watch the O-line play enough to say, and so many folks pimp him I will have to defer to those who analyze such things for a living that he is a quality O-Line. The only time I really noticed him was against Auburn where that big D-Lineman of there's was consistently driving him 5 yards into the backfield. I'm told he wasn't 100% that game.

Pocic just isn't a center. He isn't built to play it, and out of the positions he's played on the line, it's the one he's performed worst at. The problem is that Miles (not sure about Grimes, because he experimented with playing Pocic at tackle some after Miles was fired) only trusted him to make the calls up front and snap the ball.

I love the guy and think he's a great team player, but no one here did him ANY favors putting him at Center. He did struggle a lot this year. How the hell is he supposed to get leverage on good DTs at 6' 7"?
