BITCH MADE
The beginning of the Lane era is kicking off with a big matchup to get a pressure test on where this team is.
This is the perfect scenario for us to kick this thing off.
And if you don’t like big games with a lot on the line, you’re gonna hate the Lane era.

The myth of Tiger Stadium gets to experienced quarterbacks, much less one starting his first game. Every time I go to Tiger Stadium I leave with a headache and my ears are ringing.

Been following LSU football many many years, just like so many on this site. Go back and look at history....lots of times we thought we were going to be good, played a mediocre team to open, and struggled to win... and went on to have a mediocre season. Many thought we were still good after the opening win at Clemson. Look at the years that we were really good. We generally beat the hell out of teams, including some really good teams. In 2003 LSU beat ULM 42-7, in 2003 LSU beat Miss State 45-0, in 2011 LSU beat Oregon top 5 Oregon 40-27, and in 2019 LSU beat Ga Southern 55-3. Those were our best 4 teams IMO this century.

If LSU struggles in this game, at home, then it won't be a great season.
Clemson will be fired up. Dabo will motivate them in week 1. It won't be until later in the year when they inevitably lose to Duke or something that their postseason hopes are gone that they'll start to quit on the team.
We have a new head coach, OC, QB, LT, RB (one), and WRs. In a completely new offensive system. We will be playing a bunch of freshman on the DL and are thin at CB.
If we don't look good, but win, that is fine and in no way indicative of a poor season. We will gel more each week. Film session after the 1st game is the most powerful of the year.

Hope you are right, but history says otherwise. Clemson isn't good. There is a reason they are double digit underdogs.
* For the record, I think we win something like 34-13.
