We're at home with what s/b our best team since 2011. Excuses are over, this is the year.

I was pointing out that your reasoning was dumb. Plenty of new, talented QBs step in and dominate from day 1 and I believe both of the guys in their QB competition were very highly rated. Very possible that Auburn is good this season. They tend to field better teams when they have lower expectations.

Not sure if this team will be as good as 2012. A lot of people forget how good that team was by the time we got to November with just one hiccup in the swamp. Then we were one TJ Yeldon screen pass from being National Champions that season but had to settle for a team that lost the Peach bowl because we were disinterested in playing a non-BCS bowl (ala last year's UGA). If Mathieu had been on that team, I think we beat Alabama that season and win the NC. Shame things went down the way they did.

But 10-2 is the floor & 12-0 is the ceiling, imo. I'd characterize 10-2 as a mild disappointment, but not out of the realm of possibility. Anything worse than 10 wins this year is unacceptable, barring major injury/unforeseen circumstances.

And we owned them for the previous 16 years. Screw that noise. Moo State should never be a competitor or equal.

And Troy owns HBC Zeraux in Tiger Stadium too so....

no they didn't.

Having O was the concern. Had nothing to do with Miss State kicking his teams arse up and down the field.

Auburn is really good on the trenches and because nobody thinks they are any good, they’ll probably be great. At least that’s a home game.

Losing that game was the epitome of inexcusable

you unwittingly made OPs point.

They typically play really well against us.

You should stop only reading the posts of goldrush, Damone, etc.

and start reading your posts where you say 9 wins is okay?

Nope, Auburn has new QB and State has none. No excuses.
the "new" player argument is so weak. College ball is like that - there's constant roster turnover.

Many "new" players are huge upgrades. Hell, Kyler Murray was a new starter for OU last year. Tua was a new starter last year. Jake Fromm was a new starter when he took UGA to the championship game a couple years ago.

College offenses aren't very complex. New guys can step in immediately and play at the highest level.

LSU is 17-3 in the last 20 years. only 4 of those 17 wins were one possession games.

what about returning guys? Because LSU has a ton of those.

the lengths to which people will go to start posturing to make it acceptable for O to go 9-3 this year is astounding.

The state of Mississippi has produced some outstanding football players over the years. What diminishes MSU's roster is the fact they have to recruit against another SEC team for the state's talent. The state has a lot of talent that generally gets parsed between the two schools.

A single SEC school in Mississippi would be a force most years

no, I'm not an O apologist. I was against the hire and still don't think he's the right guy, but I'm expecting a monster year.

My post was in response to another poster that said Auburn won't be good because of a new QB. My point was that's a weak and lazy argument. New guys can be better than returning guys and can play extremely well.

right, so then talk about the returning guys.

Auburn returns more DL and OL than anyone in conference. But they lose their QB and leading rusher and I think their top receiver too. Plus the home team has kinda dominated this series for the better part of 20 years.

Ms State had a chance to consolidate the power, but you gotta give credit to Matt Luke who will ultimately get fired for not winning enough for not letting Ole Miss football become completely and totally irrelevant.
