Apparently it gives players a bit of a boost in the eyes of NFL scouts when they learn a kid was given 18 at LSU.

To be fair to NFL scouts, I’m a big LSU fan and already forgot Greg Penn was number 18

I like to think Josh Williams was the “real” #18. I’m glad we just have 1 guy this year. We don’t need one on offense & defense

With the Giles - #7 and Penn thing, I’m over that “tradition.”

You are pointing out two guys out of 30+ people to prove why you’re over a tradition? Just pretend like Nuss is still wearing #13 if it bothers you that much.

This tradition isn’t for us fans. It’s for the players/team. It symbolizes leadership qualities, among other things. I think things like this are good .

It hasn’t worked out for a handful of guys out of the loads of legends that have worn both.
It’s a great tradition and Nuss is 100% the best choice. He stuck it out and came back. Playoffs or bust boys

It’s a captain at LSU. That holds weight in draft rooms.

Without question. The captain of an elite football school will have a lot of weight during the draft process.
