One of the main reasons this game was lost was due to the lack of bench play!

There are many reasons the Tigers lost this game. Of course MW didn’t play or shoot well and HVL made some crucial mistakes right before half and when inbounding the ball but the lack of a bench really hurt tonight.

Kim needs to find a way to work Valez and Kent into the game. By the end of the game you could tell that the fatigue affected the way they played defense and the way they shot the ball down the stretch.

This team wont go far into the tournament if KM doesn’t develop more bench play. You have to let them get out there and play. If they mess up, pull them but give them a chance and give your starters some rest, so that in the crucial times of the game, they can be fresh and not fatiqued.

I was a little disappointed that Kim gave up on Poa immediately after her turnover. She at least plays defense and is one of the team leaders in assists.

Yeah, you just have to take some lumps with substituting. LSU got every loose ball and rebound in the first half. But they were dead legged down the stretch. Could really see it taking its toll on all aspects of the game.

Poa looked like a scared rabbit out there tonight. Kim was right to pull her quickly.

Just look at the boxscore. Carolina had 16 points from their bench. LSU had 4.

Well to be fair, SC got two easy layups as soon as she checked in and then turned the ball over. She might not be fully healthy with her back issues.
