One of the best things from last night...is the refs

Didn't screw us.
I saw what I thought were numerous holding penalties that weren't called, but I don't remember either team being flagged for holding.
I was very glad that neither team can blame the refs for the victory or loss.
Great job by the refs and I can't believe I am saying that.

I think that Bama was certainly getting the calls in the beginning.
1. Their Oline was holding nearly every play until the eventual holding call - which is when Richardson's yardage went from good to non-existent.
2. Jarrett Lee got creamed twice in the beginning. One was debatable, but one was blatant. Both times, the defender hadn't even lowered his body yet prior to Lee releasing the pass - both times the defender took atleast an extra two steps and then put his whole body into it.
3. Twice Bama gets pinned back near their own endzone - twice the refs decide to put their glasses on and start making some calls to get Bama out of trouble.
The main thing that I noticed was Bama's offensive line holding in the first half. It got to the point where they were doing it with that "hey we're bama - they won't flag us" mentality. If you watch their offense before and after the holding call, it's 180 degrees different.
I think if we would have lost that game we could easily point out many times in which the refs screwed us.

The refs didn't screw us, they screw'd Bama. Eric Reid's int was not an int and completely changed the game in our favor.

Actually, it is the "hey this is college football, for some reason the refs don't call holding anymore unless someone gets DDTed at the refs feet" mentality. It is time to put boxing gloves on linemen.

That's horse shite. The ball did a 180 in his hand the call was 100 percent correct.

I thought the refs did an excellent job. I thought that Reid's interception was going to be overturned since we were in Tuscaloosa, but props to the refs for making the right call.

Of course you think so. a very large number of sports personalities have showed their strong disagreement with you, but it doesn't matter.
The call was made, the call was blown, an the call was blown a second time during review. That pretty much makes it final. Of course, the fact that ever since we found out who the officiating crew was going to be I have heard nothing but LSU fans bitch about how bad this crew sucks will never be heard since the calls went in y'alls favor this time. Funny how hat works.

You do realize they have changed the definition of holding now right? Holding someone is perfectly legal as long as your hands are in the right place. That's why you keep seeing people "hold" and not get called for it. Because they are doing it within the rules.

Call on the field stands. Reid came down with it and saying that it was a "blown call" is a bit much. Debatable but not blown.

i guess i havent watched enough post game coverage. what "sports personalities" disagreed with the interception? i never heard one. the refs, the announcers, and the gameday crew all agreed it was an interception from what i saw.

THIS
No one said it was not an interception. Entire TV crew agreed with the call on the field and not one of the national announcers said anything about it, unlike 09 when Murray Divot was born.

The two were falling and Reid's arm was between the receiver's chest and the ball. The ball was "not cradled" by the receiver. When the twosome hit the ground Reid's arm had circumvented the ball, he rolled over in sole possession, aka, "frickin' end of story".

Post game Urban Meyer was just saying that the tight end didn't fight hard enough to get it. That is pretty much what happened.

still pictures mean nothing when dealing with live action. The shots you would need would be the 3 or 4 frames before he hit the ground and the 3 or 4 frames after. Without all of those in stream, any still shots would be worthless.
Plus, if you HAD to go from that still. Looks like Williams has both hands on the ball. Without seeing movement (would need video for that) you have to assume possession and at the point of the receiver hitting the ground he is down, and tie goes to the receiver. But as I said before, stills are worthless in reviewing live action.
