I know I don't give a shite what kind of offense we run so long as we move the ball and score a lot. Seeing some new formations is cool and all, but I really couldn't care less how we dress things up if it isn't effective.

I agree.
And as I said earlier, I think defenses are ahead of offenses early in the season. Offenses improve more than defenses throughout the season.

Awesome is like top 10? There is nothing in the spring to make that realistic. This is where the disconnect comes in. People make wild assertions with little to no independent means of backing it up. Then they want to get all defensive when someone challenges the ridiculous assertion.

Correct, you're absolutely disconnected.
When you're returning so much experience, a good QB, WRs, ... new offense installed, two great RB recruits it would be very normal for any fan to be excited about the possibilities.
But you don't want to see success.

Did you not say that you expect about 2800 yards from the running game, another 3300 from the passing game?
That would correlate to a top 15ish offense if it existed this past season.

Offenses are evolving, and have taken precedence over defense, I don't expect 6000 yards to be top 25 next year. You may have 6 SEC teams in the top 25. Hell in 2016 there were 24 teams

LSU had a future pro QB, RB, and two great WRs in 2013 and couldn't break in the top 30 of offenses, but if I think its highly unlikely we break into the top ten in total offense this year, awesome like, I don't want LSU to have success.
Wake up. Its a sports board. People are going to disagree with you, but they still want LSU to have success.

We almost had as many passing yards with a first year QB last year as we did in 2013 with all that talent.

Almost as many passing yards, more total yards from the QB position. Less total yards overall.
it was more similar to 2012, but A little more productive.
There was a huge production increase from 12-13.

It would’ve taken last years passing attack 2 more games to pass 2013s so no it wasn’t almost equal. Plus last season we had 387 pass attempts, in 2013 we had 326 so the production of the 2013 passing game was much much better. They’re not really close and I dunno what 2012 has to do with anything.

The reason I brought up 2012 is because it parallels 2018 in so many ways, including a transfer QB in his first year.
It's a far better parallel than 2013. I believe this offense also has a higher ceiling.
