I think we beat Bama by two touchdowns this year. It won't be as close as most think.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! BOOK MARKED. I just do NOT see this. Bama is a fine-oiled machine right now They have won 10 straight games by at least 19 points.

Not bama fans, by "New Fans" I mean the old farts and the occasional family who complain the whole game for little things that are to be expected at an Adult event. And probably some Bama fans who put serious money up.

That was primarily for Scoop's benefit being that he predicted Mett would get sacked 11 times this past Saturday.

Bama is a highly tuned well oiled Machine. But LSU has two big arse monkey wrenches for em. Mingo & Montgomery

This is just stupid. LSU always tries to schedule the bye week before a tough opponent. The extra week is nothing but advantageous.

We have young players AND we are battling injuries. The bye week before Alabama is a blessing.

FINE. But it stills kills mojo. Bama will have the advantadge as far as being prepared. THIS LSU team has NOT gone through this. They are very young. I don't like the odds.

18-1???????? Not at LSU. But anyway. They have NOT played a team as good as Bama who has no bye before the LSU game. I am tellin ya that the monday through SAT routine is CRUCIAL for a team. Missing a week of that makes a difference.LSU will be sitting there on SAT watching Bama destroy MSU. Look I like what I saw on sat night. But Trying to kick FGs against Bama THIS YEAR will not be good.

I wouldn't say we beat them handily. If it ends up 2 score difference, the second unanswered score would be very late off of a mistake or a tired out defense.

As well oiled of a machine Bama is now, I have to agree that their schedule leading up to playing us isn't very strong or helpful to them.

Sure last year they didn't have a strong schedule leading up to us but they lost at home. BCS championship was a rematch, plenty to learn from after the first round.

LSU, on the other hand, has played through much more adversity this year leading up to Bama. Add in the factor it's at home and a revenge game for the Natty, you'd expect LSU to come out very strong and extra motivated. (Death Valley included)

We always argue SEC is strongest conference because of strength of schedule and what that teaches our teams. LSU has probably learned a lot more than Bama from their schedule. Will it be enough?

Who knows, Bama looks in top form untested or not; they have to find out if they can still perform at that level against maybe the only game that will challenge them in terms of size, depth and overall talent. LSU has already faced some premier talents and lost 1 of them.

If LSU can't clean it up and become consistent before Bama, then all the motivation and magic probably can't save them. I like our chances though

Let me get this straight. I am ALL LSU. But from what I have seen, Its not Bamas fault that the teams have played sucked when Bama played them. Mich and Arkie and even Mizzou was supposed to be better than they are and Bama crushed them ALL.YES The talent level WILL improve for them when they play LSU. But we are not NEAR where Bama is as far as consistant play and dominance. TENN is not a world beater but if Bama goes into knoxville and wins by 20 or more and then beats MSU by 20. I think LSU is in for a world of trouble.

Only Peej would complain about having 2 weeks to complain for the biggest game of the season.

I've always been confident that we beat Bama this year and still am. Just think our players have had it circled since Jan. We'll have to play well but that's not something we're not capable of doing. We always seem to play well against Bama(January aside of course), this year will be no different.
I do put some validity into what the OP is saying but that only comes into effect if we punch them in the mouth and make them feel pressure. Our team will have to stand toe to toe early to make them tense up. That is where they can be tested. They have recognized very early in games all year that they were the more physical and powerful team. Our guys have to set the tone early to let them know that we can hold up. The Reid hit on TR last year was that tonesetter, we'll need another this year.

You're needlessly skeered.

I don't discount for even one second Bama's excellence, but I can also say the following without any doubt: come November 3, LSU's defense will be the best that Alabama has faced by a WIDE margin. Mizzou, Michigan, Tenn, and even MSU completely lack the sort of dominant defensive line that LSU possesses.

I am not guaranteeing victory, but I am guaranteeing that we will not be blown in by Alabama at night in Death Valley.

Mississippi St isn't horrendous and Bama is started to battle some injuries as well. We get to take a week off to heal up, while Bama is playing another hard nosed SEC opponent. I'll take the rest.

Hell as bad as Missouri is they still were able to beat up McCarron a bit. I love the spot we're in.
