That whole sequence was a straight up coaching clinic starting from the zone read with Chambliss, which completely fooled everyone.

Then they line up for 2 to catch us off guard to either jump, call timeout or just take a delay of game

And we fell for it twice

This was the most masterminded call I had seen in football in a long time. It wasn’t about the two point conversion as opposed to a one point conversion difference.

The amount of mental stress that it caused and the embarrassment that it caused when we could not quit jumping off sides ate us up.

Think back to last night and the last drive. That two-point conversion had us stressfully overthinking. Do we score now so we can have clock? Do we wait to score so we don’t give Chambliss a chance? Wait…first we have to score! What if we don’t get the conversion..are we prepared for an onside?
And of course, all of that thinking and we don’t score at all.

Whoever made that decision or came up with the initial thought won the game for Ole Miss. I understand it was Golden’s call, but WHO said this is the way? They deserve a pay raise.

When we kicked the FG to tie, relief was palpable from the Ole Miss crowd and players and coaches. It was a chance to start over and get a clean kickoff and work with some decent yards to go on the next drive. If LSU does not convert that 4th down had they gone for it, field position for Ole Miss would still be unfavorable and Chambliss would have had to find a way to avoid a turnover as they were backed up.

Everyone always says “take the points”. I think ole Miss was delighted we did that. Had we gone for it (and not called that stupid, god awful play from wildcat), and scored, the panic in that stadium would have been infectious. I guarantee you everyone who was a Rebel last night, was so relieved when we tied instead of taking momentum and getting 6.
