This is probably crazy but it's something that no one has probably thought of. If deculus works out at right tackle really really well then when Magee comes back, he might replace Brumfield on the left guard if he's an upgrade and Brumfield could be the primary backup? Crazy? Downvote away or.....?

You want to replace our 2nd best (possibly 1st but I'll give the edge to Saahdiq) offensive linemen?

Brumfield hasn’t been great. He’s been up and down.

We’ve seen nothing out of Magee to think he’d be an improvement though. Remember, RT looked like it was going to be a problem even when Magee was starting.

Who would have ever thought after playing Southeastern LSU would need to shake up our OL. After Miami or Auburn ok, but after Southeastern? No, that doesn't make me worry over this game at all.

Makes you wonder what the coaches have been watching and doing all fall camp.

Idk, Magee played well against NFL talent against Miami.

Brumfield isn't a great OLineman from an ability standpoint but he's the absolute leader of the line, he isn't getting replaced.

Magee was hurt in the first few minutes of the game. Maybe even the first drive.

I don’t want to replace Brumfield but he’s been below average this year so far.

Hopefully he figures it out.

If we were talking about Ingram, I'd say there might be something to it.

Granted, Brumfield isn't doing too great. Actually, through two games - he's done good, but very inconsistent.

For a G, or C, when you see this you have to look to the people beside them for part of the explanation.

Last year, Charles at OG was (who didn't do great there, Ingram did better) made Clapp look bad on several plays a game. Clapp's grades went up when Charles moved to OT. It happens.

I think the tackle, and some on C, is a cause for the inconsistency. One never knows for sure unless you know the zone priorities or assignments, but sometimes you can know with a high degree of certainty.

The key to Brumfield is shoring up the tackle best we can and the Cush. Not replacing him with an OT that struggled to separate himself, when the biggest priority issue is at OT. That being said, IF we had Ingram, Cush would be better, which would also assist Brumfield. That's how these things work.
