C.S. Lewis was an atheist who became a Christian. He was a great writer. This was on his twitter feed. Les would have loved the “chest” reference.
“We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."

That quote is from Lewis’s magnificent little book Abolition of Man

Everyone should read it at least once

CLM quote:

“The skills of their quarterback make him a wild card. He's got the ability to throw the ball, and he's very dangerous with his feet."

Baw Baw can come out with similar but different quotes.

At least we don’t have the totally benign Coach-speak most coaches speak in.

I was tired of the constant, brutally repetitious mediocrity. But dammit. Les Miles was a lot of fun to have in Baton Rouge while he was here, and a terrific ambassador for the city and school.

I saw a video, once, the guy said “where do you want me to put it?” The girl replied “my chest”
In other words, she was running a crossing route and wanted the ball between the numbers.

Man, Les would of loved the “chest” reference.

That isn’t a coincidence.

He used that quote intentionally.

I wonder who runs the C. S. Lewis twitter feed? He’s been dead for 60 years. Great writer (Narnia books, the Screwtape letters, Mere Christianity) and a close friend of J.R.R. Tolkien.

These missing goofy Les posts are getting old. He can go be quirky and goofy on someone else's dime.

I guess If, by "terrific ambassador", you mean frequently being poked fun at by commentators etc for his goofy behavior, or strange use of the English language.
Does anyone know how much cash Les donated to LSU during his tenure. How many foundations he sponsored etc?
Did he do much charitable work in the community?

He's a lot better for college football now that he's not coaching anymore. Look les is a great guy and a great family man by all accounts, but his time had come at LSU, with his tired morrish, half spoken language and a personality built on that bull shite that had outdone himself and his position and responsibility here at LSU. It was time to move on.

Ol Les didn't have the "chest" on 1/9/12. Quitters don't have chest and never have.

I found Les frustrating as hell. He honestly thought he was being cagey in his gamesmanship and was throwing the opponent off on what to look for in upcoming games.
It was so bad, that he would say the opposite of what he would eventually do.
Absolutely Maddening.

The Miles obsession here is almost as sad as the Saban obsession.

Move on. The dumbass got himself fired.

If it were possible I would pay to listen to a conversation between C.S. Lewis and Les Miles.

I always figured Les was a fan of Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll.

Les said FU to LSU and it's fans. He didn't want the job anymore but it was fun when he did.

That's ridiculous. Fan bases will always remember their best coaches no matter what circumstances caused their demise..

I'm sure Texas fans still love Mack Brown.
Florida State loves Bowden.
Ohio State loves Tressell.

Hell, Arkansas would probably kill to have Petrino back.

Les Miles was a great coach and a class act in a time where morals are considered a distant thought when considering win percentage.
