They did at one point, it was right across from Friends. You know the really big one? That's not it. It was the one next to it. The obscenely huge one belongs to a plastic surgeon.

That's not it. That's Dr. Parr's house. He own's Premier Pain in Mandeville. He's not a plastic surgeon.

Edit

Some have said that the main character in the novel is based on Charlie "Choo-Choo" Justice, a real-life North Carolina football star. Then, after the movie was released, simply because the film had been relocated to Louisiana, there were rumors that Deford had based Gavin Grey on LSU's All-American running back, Billy Cannon. Deford has always vigorously denied that the character of Gavin Grey was based on any real person, but was, in fact, a composite of many college stars he had known in several sports. "Never met Justice or Cannon, and hardly knew anything about them." he says.

1987, I was there.

They filmed parts of the movie during halftime

FIFY

I was there too, it was the Alabama game, the only game LSU lost that year, and why would they wait until after when all the fans would be gone?

I’ve heard for a long time that he owns or owned one of those insane mansions on the river in Madisonville by the bridge.

around 1989'ish, Goodman lived next door to Bob Pettit behind N.O.C.C. I went to school with Bob's 3 kids and the next door neighbor's son. The house was a giant plantation that was dis-assembled by hand, placed on barges, and floated down the MS River to be re-assembled. In the mid-2000's Goodman bought Trent Reznor's (Nine In Nails) house.
