Beating BCS #4 over you beating BCS #9 isn’t enough to make up the .0009 difference in our BCS rankings? I would think with the point differential between Ga and Wisc that’s gotta move the needle a bit, no?

I wasn't talking about the BCS projection, I was talking about what the CFP will do.

As far as the BCS, it's not as simple to say that a win over #4 will move the needle over a win over #9.

You have to look how the rankings are calculated.

LSU would need to jump Ohio State (or Clemson in Sagarin) in one of the polls to gain there.

To move up in the AP and Coaches, they would need to garner more 1st place votes. We'll have to see what those voters do.

It's certainly possible LSU jumps to #1 in projected BCS, but not guaranteed.

How about top 10 victories.

That's the thing. One week the deciding factor (or at least the explanation) was top 19 wins then this week it was high quality wins. We have no idea which one they're going to use.

Problem is that LSU'S 3 victories trumps OSU'S 4 victories. That shows how soft the Big 10 are.

If thia is true, why is Ohio State #1 in the CFP?

That's the only way the committee can justify keeping y'all #1. It's pathetic, but it is what it is. I'd never have guessed that fricking Cincinnati would make a difference. What a joke. SEC teams lose and they drop 7 spots. Big X teams lose and they drop 1 spot or they jump a ridiculous number of spots when they win.

Because the system is a corrupt joke.

Sometimes its not who you play its when you play them... This is the case with OSU this year.... Do you really think Michigan is a 14th ranked team?????

So if they were the same number of wins and Ohio State has dominated those games more than LSU, do you see why they'd be #1?

That’s basically what I was leading into. You’ve claimed the committee closely resembles the BCS. LSU as #1 BCS should be #1 committee.

Obviously no one on this site trusts this years committee.

I've never trusted the committee.

Its a fricking joke. Has been since 2014. No one knows what qualifies them to be in.

Total clown show.

But LSU was playing better teams than OSU was............. I agree OSU has dominated the big ten.....OSU would have at least two losses in the SEC....

I actually have objective stats and metrics that help formulate my opinion that agree with me.

You have the AP poll.

NO I have over 50 years of college football knowledge that backs me up.....

I don't need some committee to tell me who the better teams are......... But I can't stop the committee from being driven by TV contracts and ratings....

Doubtful that changes.

If Ohio State wins, they're #1.

I'd say its pretty likely to change, considering that Cincinnati lost by 10 last week to a team that they probably need to beat this week to remain in the top 25.

Most likely scenario is Ohio State nets zero top 25 wins and LSU goes +1.

Edit:
And actually, Ohio State is in a bit of a tough situation with Wisconsin, because the larger their margin of victory is, the lower Wisconsin will be ranked in the polls, and therefore the less impressive two victories over them will be on paper.

On the other hand, a closer game will result in 2 higher ranked wins on paper but the weaker performance will hurt them in the impressiveness of performance category.

There's basically no way for OSU to completely dominate a Wisconsin team that finishes in the top 10 in the standings, because dominating them will knock them out.

And the coaches poll. Both of which you would be touting if they were in your favor. Don't be a hack.

Those polls are and always will be very flawed.

As are nearly all metrics and stats in some way.

When taken together they tell a more complete story.

The people on the committee could be flawed as well..........
