The NCAA desperately wants all the storylines that go with an LSU/OSU final. Clemson is the fly in the ointment. They believe LSU is more capable of beating Clemson in the Semi’s than OSU, and will do whatever kind of gerrymandering of the rest of the teams in their top 25 to ensure they get that.

They were at the time. Wins should be valued for what they were worth at the time. Texas in game 2 of the season was a vastly better team than they are now.
