And you know this how? Maybe Lee would have thrown a pick? I don't know and neither do you.

For real dude, being 5-0 is sooo wrong. Let's be more like Georgia!!!!!

Ah yes, the "DUDE" argument. I call it that because the "we're 5-0" always seems to be preceded by the word "dude."Keep going down this path and we will be like Georgia.

I find it concerning that many fans have the same mentality here as LM did after the game. In his on-the field post game interview, he just said, "It's just another day in the SEC"
No Les. Not it's not. When I think SEC football, I don't think questionable clock management and debilitating penalties that end games.

Mediocrity is not to be appreciated!

It is a backlash to the ridiculous overreaction that has taken over this board.

I hate to break it to you but the sky is about to fall in Baton Rouge. At this point LSU will not beat Alabama, Florida, Auburn or Arkansas unless those teams forget to bring their coaching staffs to the game.

quote:

Please understand me when I say that the last 24 seconds yesterday was the most atrocious display of game management in the history of college football.

It would be "atrocious" for a team to do this once. It's a travesty for this to be the THIRD time in a year.

quote:

We will have to re-evaluate our entire coaching staff at the end of the season except Chavis.

Why wait? Seriously. BYU didn't wait and I don't think it's going to harm their season. There are several assistants on this staff that are pitiful coaches and have no business at this level.

quote:

But stop talking about how bad the team is. It is untrue and makes you look foolish.

There really isn't much being bantered around about the team. On the otherhand the coaching staff, which is being payed a handsome sum of money, is getting roasted. Rightfully so!

quote:

What I hate about the end of that game is how much it took away from Lee's incredible composure on that drive. Forget the throws for a second. Think about the situations he was put in on that drive converting two third and longs and a fourth and long. He took the reins at the end of the game and ran with them. And don't forget that the defense held yet another opponent to around 200 yards and had an incredible fourth and less than a yard stop to put the team in a position to drive for the win.

Agreed, but also think about the fact that this coaching staff then ripped him out of the game to put in Jordan Jefferson with no plan of execution. Suddenly the staff then substituted in a package that would allow Jordan Jefferson to throw the ball for the last planned (I use that loosely) play of the game.

quote:

Miles puts good teams on the field and they are always ready to play.

Have you watched this team this year? Realize that LSU had less offensive production against Tenn than UAB. Let that sink in for a moment.

Ready to Play, hahahaha.

Do you really think the offense was "ready to play" yesterday? Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder could have seen they weren't "ready."

quote:

Just have faith that he (Les Miles) will have the guys ready to play on Saturdays (which he almost invariably does) and that they will overcome any potential horrific game management situation

The faith is strong in you and for that I commend you. I don't share your faith in Leslie at this point. I've seen nothing in 3 years that tell me he has the total package in place to return this team to where it should be.

+1000
For a guy people pegged (myself included) as having serious mental toughness problems, he sure as hell didn't show it on that drive. You had to have titanium balls to be composed enough to throw the ball on that 4th down conversion.

Tell me , just between us....how happy will you be if LSU does lose next week? On a scale from 1-10, how much joy will it give you?

I have friends who think that some here are paid to get on here and blindly defend coaches that clearly have no clue.

Remember - some defended Brady until the bitter end.

You are fighting a losing battle. Many LSU fans are dunderheads who stake their entire existence on college football. They become embarrassed when some talking head on tv breaks down a game and criticizes a football team.

We all want the team to win. When they lose, they will get a new coach. Life will go on.

It's about an appreciation for process with the understanding that lack of it hinders long-term, seasonal success.

If you stake someone playing poker and they go all in with 27 offsuit and win, you're only going to be happy if its the last hand they play. If they're gonna continue gambling with your money, you might wanna have a talk with them before they continue.

I can guarantee you that I bleed more Purple and Gold than you can shake a stick at. I don't own anything Tulane Green for one reason. I hate Alabama with every piece of my body. I never wear the opposing teams color's during the week prior to a game. I literally put a pair of orange boxers at the bottom of my closet this week just so I wouldn't make a sleepy mistake in the morning. All football season long my work clothes consist of Purple and Gold Polo Shirts everyday along with a LSU belt. My shoes on Friday's are Yellow and Purple Nike's. I've got a flag outside my house and 4 flags on my car. I graduated from LSU and grew up at the gates. I go to Basketball games and am one of the only one's there. I bought a $1,000 Sony HD TV last week 30 minutes before kickoff only because my big TV wouldn't be fixed in time for the game. Now that TV is sitting in a box in the garage after having been used only for a few hours. I feel physically ill when my Tigers lose.

No way in HELL will I be happy "if LSU does lose next week." But I can damn sure tell you that I am unhappy with the current situation in BTR and the fans that condone mediocrity for it's players. These kids deserve better! Point Blank!

Come on Uncommon - LM embarassed LSU and himself yesterday. He clearly has no idea how to manage a game when he has no TOs and the clock is running.

He and GC have also mismanaged the QB situation at LSU worse than anyone could defend.

Yes we won - in spite of Miles, not because of him.
