Tiger Rag is the basis for almost all of LSU's musical tradition. To take it out of the rotation over an obscene chant that has been done for years and years?

You do realize that the band does indeed still play Tiger Rag after every touchdown, don't you? What song do you think people sing to when they yell T-I-G-E-R-S TIGERSSSS!!!! It's an abbreviated version of the song and has been that way for at least 20 years (maybe more but that is before my time). As far as your "years and years" comment, the full version has only been a part of pre-game for only 7 years (since the east upper deck was built). Prior to 2000, the full Tiger Rag version hadn't been played in Tiger Stadium since 1986, when it was banned the first time for the "a-hole, a-hole" chant.

It reflects worse on LSU that they let the obscene chants win out over tradition instead of playing it loud and proud regardless and finding another solution, which is what they should have done.

Again, is 7 years out of the last 22 years really tradition?

What's worse is that not enough of the LSU family has called them out on this decision making.

Maybe because most people know that these really aren't "traditions" and know the facts, thus they don't feel the need to speak up.

Um, we play part of Tiger Rag for pregame. We play part of Tiger Rag after TD (as you mention.) We play it as our first down cheer. Ect, ect, ect. What is a bigger part of LSU tradition than that??

That's my point with it being part of tradition. You think its a good idea to not play the most influential musical piece that LSU has because of obscene chants? And to do so without even trying to stop said chants as a first option instead?

There is nothing that is a bigger part of LSU's musical tradition than Tiger Rag; no matter how many times LSU has tried to stop playing its full version for moronic reasons. That's why people should speak up about it. That's why the AD and Band directors should have fought for it rather then taking the easiest way out.

Wisconsin crowd makes it seem almost prudish.
