This is awesome. Saw him at the beau rivage in Biloxi 3 months ago and he was still in a walking boot.

Is this what he ran? If so, pretty unreal!

That is nothing short of a miracle. So happy for Chad and his family.

I hope to see him in the NFL someday, but the fact that he was able to run in front of a crowd today, whether they release the real time or not, is simply magical. The time is irrelevant.

Congratulations Chad!

Any word on how many people showed up to cheer him on?

Definitely a great story, thanks for linking it. That kind of character does not come around often. Chad Jones -

Awsome to see him making such good progress. I also must give major props to the New York Giants. In todays dog eat dog world of professional sports here is a organization that is doing it right and with complete class. They have stuck by Chad Jones when they were under absolutely no requirements to do so.

They did last year, but I'm pretty sure they cut him this season. Amirite?

Chad Jones ran a hand timed 4.84. He looked to be in much better shape than I could have imagined (rocked a bright orange fleur de lis tank top). He was wearing leggings that hid his skin. All the rehab people were jacked with the time. His dad chest bumped him after the run. All the 10 year old St. Martins cheerleaders were lined up cheering and they had a Go CHAD / Happy Bday sign for him. He spoke after and did a great job. The trainers, ER people from the accident all spoke about how amazing his progress is, considering the initial diagnosis. The coolest part was his boy running around on the field tackling kids older than him playing football, #thefuture. Saints scout, Giants assistant GM and his agent were all there.

Great experience and weather. About 250 people there I'd say. Estimated.

I don't know, because he had to wait for the lockout to end so he could have another surgery under the Giants insurance...
