Miss. St. Thundering and Lightning got an hour and half, seems like they could have made this walk off an hour

It should have been. 30 minutes does the story a pretty big disservice. I'm guessing they were just being lazy and knew LSU fans would eat it up no matter what

God, LSU fans suck. So desperate to be an unknown star on a message board. This board is a Lonely Hearts Club for the lonely and unloved losers.

Didn't he have a couple of doubles in the huge inning against GT?
To the contrary, Warren made 2 of the outs in the 18 run inning vs Ga Tech

Back in those days they had 6 team regionals and those things were a grind. Pitching depth was a big issue for the lesser teams sometimes...and even the better teams, for that matter. Usually the winner of the regional was the team that ran out of pitching last. Usually LSU was deep enough and had enough arms to withstand it. Even if you stayed in the winners bracket, you had to play 4 games in 4 days. If you hit the losers bracket, you needed 6 games and 5 wins in 4 days to win the regional. Brutal as hell. In the GA Tech game mentioned above, turns out GA Tech ran out of pitching in the 7th inning of game 1 on Sunday
LSU lead 10-7 going to the bottom of the 7th...then scored the 18 runs. I am looking for the box score, but I seem to recall GT needing 5 pitchers in the inning. Everything LSU hit found a hole. And there weren't many HR's....I remember a shite-ton of doubles though.

Loved the show, but it was way too short. So many back stories missed.

-8 doubles in the inning is still an NCAA record, to the best of my knowledge.

Amazing. 18 runs scored with only 1 out being recorded.

Agreed, especially that they gave the '85 Miss. State team that DIDN'T WIN the CWS (or even the SEC West that year) an hour and a half.
That one wasn't about the Ms. State baseball team that one was about two borderline hall of fame players in Major League Baseball that just happened to play on the same college team.
I wish it would have been longer but really outside of the LSU fan base nobody really cares. Thunder and lightning had cultural aspects to it like racial divides and steroid allegations. This one is specifically about that one hit. I thought it was very well done but they could have done a nice hour and a half special on skip at LSU with that story in there and said all the same info they said in the special.

There were more homeruns shown in that 30 minute clip then the past few CWS together. Back when pitchers got punished for leaving meat across the plate.
