meaning, if you get your 50 people up to seattle, you can probably kiss the prospects of a full band trip goodbye.

again, back to my first post in this thread.

I can't believe this is so difficult to understand...

So is your point that we should say nothing?...

quote:

This is such a waste of time.

Or is your point that we should go for the One full band SEC trip?

quote:

If its one or the other, Id rather the full band be able to go to an SEC away game than a pep band to Seattle.

Don't come in the thread being a jackass right off the bat, and then later try to be condescending to others ... Funny how you claim you could not care less and that this is a waste of time, yet you still have an opinion and continue sharing it. Make up your mind. It's cool if you don't agree with us, we're all open to suggestions and certainly open to help, but don't be an arse about it bro.

If the title to this thread was 'Send the Full Band to Oxford!!!', I would not have had any issue with it.

Be that as it may,

I just think that all this energy spent to send 50 people to Seattle is petty, and quite frankly, a potential waste of money, considering the number of vacant faculty positions that aren't being filled at LSU this upcoming year.

Again, in my opinion, my preference is (assuming one or the other) to send the full band to oxford or tuscaloosa forsaking Seattle. I can see the Athletic dept justifying this more easily than possibly spending the same amount of money to send 50 people to Seattle for a game that's going to be over in the 2nd quarter.

Then again, Ive already been reminded that different opinions aren't appreciated in this thread. My apologies.

Most people in this thread agree that a full band to Bama or Ole Miss is more important than a pep band to Washington. Most, including myself, agree with you there if you read through the thread, my man, so I'm not sure why you're being defensive.

Funny how its the people that actually have had something to do with Tigerband that know what the hell they're talking about in this thread, eh?

oops, sorry, that may have sounded condescending.

I think ASU gave alot of the money for the LSU Band to be able to go to Tempe. 100 members went. I was shocked. My first pep band road game (always went with tix in 03 and 04)

I would say that the ASU game was under 'unusual circumstances', though....I mean, we were 'technically' the 'home' team...

I think if you want TGBFTL to be in Seattle in September you better get busy. Most Universities make concessions to allow visitors to bring a band as long as the University is given ample awareness, typically 30 days. Which means you only have 17 days to arrange for the band to accompany the team to Washington. I hope everything works out for the better. Good Luck...

I'm already going, just need to get a horn and I'll join in.

Put me down for $100.00 to send the band to Washington.

why do you want to send the full band to Oxford or Tuscaloosa? If your so concerned with money, why not send the full band to starkville?

You could send the band up there and back the same day.

I am pretty sure I am the one that suggested this on here. Not sure how you would get intruments, but I think you could scrape up enough alumni members who would do this.

So....

Who is going to make a web site to take donations?

At what point do we find out if the logistics of this are even possible from athletics?

I know e-mails have been sent out, but someone might actually want to go talk to them if this is something that everyone is serious about.

An alumni band there would work plus it would be a lot of fun, but I don't know if LSU will approve of this. Maybe suggest to Mr. Wickes and someone in the Athletic Department.

I'm shocked--SHOCKED--I tell you, at the gutless wussies commenting on the (begin using whiny voice here) "Well if it's a choice between the full band at Bama or the pep band at Seattle let's bring the band to Bama..."

THIS IS LSU.

What recession are you numbskulls talking about? This is the premiere football program in the nation, with the premiere band in the nation.

If I were going to Seattle, and if I had spent the cash outlay to get there that is undoubtedly being spent, I should be very pissed if the Athletic Department said--again, using the whiny voice here--"Geez guys, we had to make cuts somewhere, you understand, don't you?"

Hell no, I wouldn't understand. Charge me an extra $5 dollars and bring the band, dumbass.

Oh yeah, the "economy" got me, I couldn't afford the five bucks.

This is LSU. We bring the band because we must.
