Yea, I wish they had made this an option when you bought your tickets. Would have made it pretty easy to come up with the cash.

learn to pick your battles.

If its one or the other, Id rather the full band be able to go to an SEC away game than a pep band to Seattle. You know they prob wont let them do both this year.

This is such a waste of time.

Judging from the name, this is probably someone in the band who wouldn't get to go to Washington anyway. I understand your point, but logistically, the fans would rather have the band at every game, then the full band at just one.

right, but if you're going to 'fight' for one or the other, which game is more important to have band rep at? Meaningless Udub, or Bama? Id rather fight to have the full band at Bama, than 50 people in Seattle.

I'll be watching the game from a hotel room in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Labor Day Weekend.

No tears shed here.

Sorry, I forgot, only rubber stamps allowed.

You may continue with your mindlessness.

Good point, as Bama's piped-in noise via field level mics w/reverb, needs some retort.

Field level mics should be as illegal in the SEC as are cowbells..gutless!

It was just an example. I would not be opposed to them going to Oxford either.

I know we went to Tuscaloosa in '95 though....one of the reasons TB doesnt have tenor saxes today...

RIP.

Or just fight for both, and if we end up with one or the other, that's better than where we started the day at.

Everything being equal, I'm not sure how any LSU fan could possibly be "opposed" to having the band (full or pep) at away games.

cuz it doesn't seem you're fighting for both, and because in my original post, I already pointed out that I seriously doubt both will occur. We both have friends in places close to 'state affairs', and we know those affairs. Just trying to be realistic.

I am concerned to hear the rumor that the Athletic Department has decided there will be no pep band in Washington and there will not be a full band trip this year to an SEC road game, as we have had in the past for as long as I can remember.

As far as the SEC road game, the LSU Athletic Department should have at least one full band trip per year even if it means simply driving over to the game and back immediately following the game, which is certainly an option for Tuscaloosa, Oxford, or Starkville in the 2009 season.

I am hopeful that the LSU Athletic Department will find the dollars in their estimated $84 million budget to send a pep band to Seattle and the full band to one SEC road game. I feel confident most LSU fans, including Coach Miles, would feel exactly as I do: that the LSU Band belongs in Seattle (and at one SEC road game) with the rest of Tiger Nation.

You may be right about not getting both, but it's certainly worth a shot. I have a feeling the current status will change in some form.
