I totally agree Roger which makes you wonder why Miles is pushing the JJ wagon so hard. I mean when there is no clear cut difference you would think they would basically go with who is hot which obviously really didnt occur last year as JJ was horrid for a 7 game stretch and still remeained the starter.
Again I really wonder why instead of so much investment in the JJ pr campaign Miles doesnt focus on working with the qb who clearly has the most upside? Mett?

its stunning to me that people on this board STILL try to defend JJ. based on his playing time (a 3+ year starter) reggie ball is often considered the worst QB in the history of college football, and even his numbers are better than JJs.
Jordan sucks, at everything. theres not one single thing hes good at. hes not even a good running qb as compared to other running qbs, we just think he is sometimes because its a miracle to see any play with him involved not result in a complete fricking calamity.

same could be said about Lee but they are the hand we are dealt...

The difference is JJ has started 29 or so games to Lee's 10, with Lee only starting one over the last 2 years. Sure, that one game was horrible for Lee, but JJ has had ~5 like that over the last year.

only thing that stuns me is how you can have two diff people attending the scrimmage,l,,, one says lee was by far best looking of the qbs another says he wasnt even close to best looking.
I smell some biasness.

the only argument for playing one are the negatives of the other. It's hard to make a positive case for either.
This is another good point. Lee does get the ball out much quicker than Jefferson who holds the ball too long and has (or had if it has been corrected) a slow release to boot. But when the first read isn't there Lee goes into total panic mode, gets happy feet, and throws the ball up for grabs off his back foot....as opposed to Jefferson who can scramble and still possibly make something out of the play.
If we could somehow combine them we might have something.

I think he wanted a clear-cut qb going into the season and Mett hasn't progressed as fast as needed to be that guy. If the team had other holes and wasn't one of the favorites to win it all, I'd say scrap the other two and start developing the future.

no its not. Lee is possible failure. JJ is guaranteed failure. with Jordan in the game there's no other possible outcome than chaos.

AS i stated in an earlier post... JJ is measured on 2010 (a jr qb) Jlee is still measuered on 2008 (as a fresh).
As the above post adequatley proves.

I would disagree Lee actually seems to go through his progressions and gets in trouble when he gets pressure and hasnt gotten to an open receiver in his reads.
JJ on the other hand will stand there and stare down his primary till he decidedes he isnt going to be open and then often take off and run or get sacked depending on how long he takes to decide his primary isnt open.

They have both failed far more often than not.

JJ is the starter and we've known this for a very long time. I'm not disputing that fact. My question is how was Mett supposed to progress as fast as needed if he wasn't even allowed to practice with the varsity?

LSU doesn't have a JV team

Spot on.

So you didn't see Lee panic and throw balls up for grabs last year? I can think of two horrendous examples off the top of my head without even looking at the replays.
This is not a pro-Jefferson post, so try to get past the Jefferson comparison and look at Lee's performance on its own. It is nothing to get excited about.

true,,, I smell it the correct way.
Not based on what I hope happened, just what Les said about them.
How else would you have me look it at?

Obviously that isnt the plan this year. Miles has been going with this JJ PR campaign since April and I am guessing he is doing everything he can to protect JJ's fragile ego!
Competition would upset JJ!
