Official QB Thread...(do not start a new thread to discuss QB's)

Any new threads about the current QB situation will be whacked or anchored...
Here is my simple take on the QB's: Les got unlucky when we didn't go up 37-10 on UNC. If we had done that, Lee gets some reps in that game, which benefits him and the team.
Fast forward to last Saturday...while Jefferson stunk, Lee made ONE pass attempt. To anoint him starter after one pass attempt is silly.
If Jefferson stinks it up again against Miss State, then I think Les will have no choice but to give Lee a shot. But until that happens, Jefferson is our man. Hopefully, he steps up his game.

At today's Lunch with Les, they asked Miles if Jefferson would have to play bad in order for Lee to get some playing time or if Lee has earned playing time. Les said Lee practices well and certainly has earned playing time, however Jefferson gives LSU the "best opportunity to win." Miles then said Lee is competing and he would feel comfortable putting Lee in the game but playing Lee would be a "game feel and not something we are envisioning at this point." WOW WOW.

If Jefferson is ineffective next week, and maybe the week after that too, you don't think Les will opt for Lee at some point, even if we lose one of those two games because of poor QB play?

i think jj's performance on saturday warrants lee getting a shot vs. msu, and by that i mean at least a few series in the first half. jj may be the guy the coaches and chicken believe in and want to do well, but we cannot get into the meat of the sec schedule and continue to let him perform how he has been.

My original reply from the needlessly anchored thread:
I have no idea how to interpret that ambiguous sentence.
I presume it means that the staff isn't scripting any series for Lee in advance and they will only play Lee if JJ struggles.
If so, that's a mistake.

I think it's faster than that. Jefferson has **maybe** the first half of MooState. He sucks this time, he's done.
