quote:I like to see what the new pitching coach can help Matty Ott. Matty Ott hasn't been the same since his Freshman year.
No...he's gone.

In my opinion Ott should go. Get real coaching and get some pay. Coming back to LSU would merit him nothing really.

USL just had someone taken.

Justin Boudreaux from Southeastern just got selected by the Dodgers.

I wouldn't mind a 4th year closer, but I agree with this.

Not true. If he came back and the new pitching coach had him pitching his 2009 stuff then he'd move way up in the draft.
He still has outstanding SO:BB ratio(4:1).

But he has no bargaining power. At most he slides up like a round or two? That isn't much in terms of $'s, plus he risks injury. He has more to lose than he does to gain.

Round 14 is over. Keep falling guys.

It's a lot to consider. I personally think he's gone, but I could see how he might want to come back for another year.

I am happy for the man. The Purple & Gold machine keeps on rolling!
It sounds cliche' and like beating a dead horse, but I wish that LSU could be known for cranking out the elite in the corporate world, research labs, and the classroom as it does on athletic fields of competition. Because football...baseball...and even basketball, still (though not as much as in the past) LSU alums can be found EVERYWHERE in the pros.
