looking at some of these other stadiums on TV in the super regionals .. there are some unique parks out there ... the box is nice, but a little antiseptic to me in a lot of ways .. almost cookie cutter looking .. some peronality over the right field wall is in order .. that is a dead space that needs something done personality-wise with it ..

Ours (sans oxford) is the only one that doesn't look like some POS stadium. Even ASU's is a dump...which is a shame for how good their teams are.

A berm would be cheaper. It would also be easy to maintain. Maybe they can allow RVS and trucks. Swimming pool? There is all sorts of possibilities with it.

berm would present the possibiltiy for them to come up with something unique that would add that special charm to a stadium. that being said, i seriously doubt you will be seeing rvs or swimming pools on the berm. mostly because theres not any room

Don't you sit down the 3rd baseline? If so, then that is the reason. There's always students in line at the RF concession stand.

yeah i sit in 213 .. but there are still students with SROs up in the grandstand area .. outside of a coke i just don't see them eating much at the games .. i didn't either when i was student, not blaming them, but students don't need their asses kissed in baseball, imo ..

I think students do bring in money for college athletics. Think of what it would be like to play right field with a couple thousand crazy LSU students heckling all game long. Adding a student section will increase the whole value of the product that is an LSU baseball game.

we are talking regionals here, you said students just show up to sell their ticket, that is not true with the majority

baseball's not really a raucous heckling crowd type of sport like football is ... students just don't come to baseball games in droves, period .. and then by the time post season hits, they are out of school and not many make the effort to get over here .. most just tried to scalp their tix on ebay the last two weekends ... students just aren't the back bone of the box like they are in tiger stadium and i just don't think they ever will be ..

there weren't that many students in the box relative to the number of student tix sold for either regionals series ... i guarantee you that for every five student tix sold, three of them were sold to non-students by the students themselves easily ..

I'm a student that went to games as regularly as my work schedule will allow (I work nights), so I got to a good number of games, but not all of them. I think asking someone to make all the home dates is a bit much.

But I always sat in the RF sections and used the RF concessions (on the ground level), and there were plenty of students spending money (even if it was Tiger Cash) on concessions. I almost always ate at the stadium, even though I found the food mostly atrocious.

I think a berm (or bleachers) in RF would attract more students, if this section was designated for them. The Maravich Maniacs always line up quite early for the courtside seats for basketball, and I'd like to think we take just as much pride (if not more) in our baseball program than basketball.

Maybe if they had a reason to, they would. Like the tailgating on the berm.

Which is why there were 700 student ticket requests honored for the Supers. And sitting out there for the regionals and supers it was about 95% students.

Fair enough, but why not do something that would bring not only more students, but more fans out to the games??

Rag, you are WAY off base here. Did you make it out to 101, 102 or 201 at any point over this weekend?

So you agree that LSU needs to do something with right field....Then what should they do? Would bleachers full of non-students be better than a berm full of crazies?

And bullshite on students not eating. They cant pack the park with students. Concessions in the upper decks of Tiger Stadium dont see much action from

That is just you being negative. If the university gives the student section a chance to be the backbone of the box then I think there is a good possibility that they will take it and run with it. Your argument about people going away for summer is bull. LSU has many local students and those local student most likely all grew up on LSU baseball. We dont have a major league team to follow so as kids LSU baseball was THE baseball.

not asking for any brown-nosing here, i just want a bigger section at least. i never got an actual seat throughout the entire season. sometimes i would have a place to sit and sometimes i would just stand behind the grandstand, which i will say is pretty awesome. If they would give us something cool to watch the game from in that huge hole in right field, it would both be a place for all of the SRO ticketholders while also giving the stadium some personality.

right now i feel the stadium is a solid starter set. we are free to expand it from here to grow into the stadium we want it to be. or at least thats what the athletic department wants you to think...
