With Herman's loss, Matt Canada is now the frontrunner for the O-Hater COY award.

Is anyone on this board capable of discussing anything without making outlandish strawmen?

This one was interesting:

I agree. Problem was not enough bodies to run in and out game. Our starters could hang with anybody . I may be wrong but I think for first time in long time we may control the trenches. Might not happen in first weeks but I really believe that.

And this is my biggest problem with the Opologist crowd. They are so quick to say “Orgeron just needs to get his players” all the while they have thrown Canada under the bus because that’s exactly what Orgeron did. They just blindly follow whatever decision he makes without questioning whether or not is was the correct decision.

I get it. I think Canada probably is somewhat of a head case. But everyone has to deal with someone like that in their job. Orgeron was too quick to throw him under the bus and mark my words, if this year goes bad, Aranda will be the next to get thrown under the bus because Orgeron ain’t gonna throw his boy Ensminger under the bus.

I also thought it was the HC's job to manage his assistants and their personalities.

This guy O has the sweetest job ever. Isn't responsible for what players do. Isn't responsible for coaches getting along. Isn't responsible for game strategy.

$3.5m a year for keeping that headset with the mouthpiece locked in the upright position and clap your hands saying "let's go."

Evidently Aranda hated him so I'll say he definitely was the problem

You have no real evidence of that. Aranda has never publicly stated he didn’t like Canada. What you have is some random article that could have easily been put out as propaganda.

Until I hear Aranda say it, I’m not going to buy it.

Or at least reported by a legitimate news source.

. No shite. Gotta be nice. His biggest qualification was that he’s from Louisiana and it’s his third dream job. He’s got it made.

Canada was universally considered to be one the best OCs in the country in 2016.

Who cares. Ignore it and move on to what can be backed up with actual evidence.

It's rumor, which you people run with 247.

Why is one rumor worse than another?

LSU fans are in love with an OC who's been run off from almost every job he's had.

Canada had the same issue with Bielema.

I was actually very willing to give O his chance. I didn’t like the hire particularly but I was willing to let him try. The loss to Troy and the curb stomping by Moo U last year ended it for me. I will give him no further benefit of doubt.

Canada was hired under the premise the offense would be his and wouldn’t be interfered with. I’d have been pissed too if I was hired and then lied too like he was

Yeah, a major program (LSU) hired him away from smaller program (Pitt) for more money than the smaller program could pay and then the HC at LSU defied clear instructions from his AD when he was hired and created an environment that allowed him to hire his friend.

Based on one game, basically. He's been fired everywhere else. Why?
