Definitely not the best half of football we have seen from this team, but the good news is you have a 10 point lead and get the ball the start the 2nd half. I think that was our "down half" for the season. We can make a few adjustments and easily come out and dominate the rest of the game.

I hate the play calling. Predictable with JJ, and then should have gone for it on 4th from the 1 foot line. The Tigers are completely uninspired today.

Based all this on two plays you mentioned?

The scary thing about that first half is that UT was able to dominate both lines, they ran the ball well, and stopped the ball well.

What happens when LSU faces a Bama team with a better running game and more stout defensive line?

Hopefully LSU comes out and shows it was just a fluke half and they get back to doing their thing.

Bonehead calls by Les in the first half:

Wastes a timeout on a clear PAT.

Wastes a timeout to gain 2 yards.

Pusses out on 4th and goal from the 1 inch line.

Congrats on being back to normal Les.

Congrats on being back to a normal puss fan.

Much as I wanted that TD, I totally agree with you here. Les made the right choice.

Wouldn't have hurt as much to make that call as he did if we didn't waste the timeout on pointless XP challenge.

The team is still light years ahead of last season and Les' coaching seems to have been greatly improved this season in his areas of weakness from the past. It's just annoying to see stupid wastes of TO's and challenges.

That doesn't mean people are claiming Les sucks. He's a great coach, but even he can make stupid calls.

Tennessee's defense is playing a heck of a game, got to give those guys credit.

I think we need to use our speed - some kind of sweep instead of mostly just up the middle. And we might need to air things out a little more. I believe we need to score lots more in the 2nd half, b/c Tennessee is on a mission today, and that is always dangerous in Knoxville.

Plus they're running the ball pretty well. They must have 70+ yards on the ground ... who expected that?

When you have a great defense, a ten pt lead is huge.

Yup. The emotion will drain off and we will pound it on UT.

I'd still like to see a replay of how they said 4th down when the ball is well into the end zone.

I saw the replay , JJ head downward straight into Hebert's and never crossed the end zone.

We would have just QB sneaked again on 4th down, and unless he walked in these shitty fricking officials would have just guessed he was short like they did on 3rd down. Absolute joke.

To be honest they have stopped everybody. JJ has had one good run, ware 2.

Exactly the point, we should not have put JJ in the game. At least make TENN D consider we may throw the ball.

This is definitely LSU's flattest performance of the season up to this point. That being said, LSU has a 10 point lead, gets the ball to start the 2nd half, and I'm fully confident that we're not gonna lose this game. That's saying a lot about how good this team is.

Don't disagree, but it is frustrating. Ford is non existent. He could blow this thing open on the corner.

It was amazing to me how he had a great run and then sat the bench for the entire remainder of the half, save for one play where he didn't run it, and we continued to run Ware up the gut for 2 or less yards.

I just don't get how you don't take advantage of matchups that you have an edge with against this team.
