Hey everyone-
I have been reading through this thread and thought I might offer some advice. First off, I do not know if UF allows tailgators to set up on Friday. Check out this link RIGHT HERE and call the school to double check. For those of you wanting to set up early I would reccommend the north side of University Ave., across from the stadium, in the neighborhood. Just pay someone for the spaces you use. Better yet, there is a HUGE empty lot(s) at the northwest corner of University and 13th St. There is ample room for all you "bigtime" tailgators, just not sure on when they will allow you to set up. Call the city of Gainesville and ask about this before arriving. One other spacious area is the northeast corner of 13th St. and Museum Dr., across from soro-whore row. Again, I do not know when they allow one to set up, this is considered "on campus". Good luck and show the rest of us how tailgating is done.
Open containers/underage drinking:
Be VERY careful with both of these, especially open container. Use Solo or other opaque cups to drink from and you should be fine. Our beloved prez loves for the cops, UPD and GPD, to ruin peoples' gameday experience by issuing citations and/or jailtime if you do not comply. Yes, our prez is a DICK!
Do not, under any circumstances, buy UF student tix unless you have access to a UF student ID. You will be wasting your money.
Any other questions please ask as I hope all of you have as great a gameday experience in Gainesville as Mrs. Carib and I had in Red Stick last year.

Yes, BIG group (Krewe of Ragoo, LSU Tampa, LSU Orlandeaux, LSU Miami) met on Stadium Rd. In between the baseball field and the O'Connell center. The band drove up right next to us and marched down and played songs for us. Fried Turkey, DJ and lots of Tiger fans.

carib...I am planning on setting up our entire tailgate in Gainesville. The open area on Museum and 13th street looks like a good place. Can we leave a trailer there overnight? How would you suggest parking?

jac1280, any idea where you are planning on setting up? Where do visiting teams typically tailgate at UF? Not sure if i want to be right in the middle of the orange and blue

sounds good, i just bought some new Bose speakers so ill have the stereo equip., but definately bring good music. my selection sucks ha

We have a crew of 8 going. A friend of mine went 2 years ago and he said that on the Friday night there is a bar room called the Purple Porpise, and it is the LSU hangout.

i am gonna be heading up there with a friend who happens to be from gainsville. i have no idea where we are staying yet. i gotta hook up with some of yall down there as i will be with all gator fans otherwise. never been to a road game , I'M PUMPED !!
