Was the original reason I thought they would offer him, to at least show they are attempting to sign him. Probably a low ball offer. There was an aggressive push that he signed for about an hour there. And now with the Shea news, people are going back into the woodwork with the sources, weird.

I'm choosing to believe the Dodgers are the ones who broke the story think if the public thinks he is about to sign it would make him, not the dodgers, the bad guy for not getting a deal done
