He'll backup 3B, C, even with a little time at DH. Really don't see him anywhere else given the depth in front of him this year.

Wasn't he playing some 1B in the fall?

I haven't been following this stuff at all, but I'm hoping this means that Tyler Moore is really solid at 1B.

He took a few reps but with Dozar, Moore, and potentially Katz in front of him he wasn't going to be seeing any time over there this season. From what I can tell he's learning under Hanover over there at 3B...we'll see if he sticks there long term.

DESIGNATED HITTER

Jackson Slaid So. *
Raph Rhymes Jr.
Alex Edward Jr.

This position is still in the air depending on what happens in left field. If Rhymes is able to start in LF then Slaid would move into this role and vice versa. Slaid, a returning letterman, only made 6 official plate apperances a season ago. While Jackson's bodywork doesn't stand out on first glance his powerful swing will do the talking this season. If you had to ask he almost reminds me of Ryan Schimpf early in his career...he can spray the ball all over the yard with his hands. Slaids your average runner, he's a converted catcher out of high school so no suprises there. Does have a slightly above average arm and in my opinion has made the most progress between this year and last along with Ty Ross. Mainieri has stated multiple times that he wants Jackson hitting somewhere in the middle of the lineup so that right there should tell you how highly he thinks of Slaids future here. Wouldn't suprise me at all if Jackson Slaid finds himself with one of the top averages on the team at the end of the year.

Power------50
Hitting------55
Speed------50
Fielding----45
Arm---------55

*Scale 20-Lowest, 50-Average, 80-Top of the Charts*

Most likely it is an elevator tower. The opening on the right looks to be the elevator opening and the opening on the left appears to be a storage room or a mechanical/equipment room for the elevator. The stairs for that platform were already there.

From what I've been told this is probably where he will be but he has 3 gloves so you never know. He's been hitting the ball real well so if that continues they may have to make room for him somewhere whether at 3B or another position.

Hey Adam, Love your quick analysis of each position and possible starting player in that position. I was just wondering as a possible filler between the 11th-16th you could also do the following:
a quick summary of the "bench" position players
a summary of the relief pitchers
a write up on next years commitments
a prediction of the team's record with a preview of each series

Just a thought if not for this year maybe for next year as a possibility!!

I can definitely do this later in the week, will probably squeeze it in with my quick list of pro prospects.

I'll be going over them when I cover relief pitching on Feb 9th

There's a rough list of the 2012 commitments on the recruiting board that MOT usually does an excellent job keeping up. I'll try to find that...

I actually have been thinking of doing something similar to this and I will add a day to cover my quick predictions for Feb 11th.

nice job Adam...although I'm not reading this until you complete the preview. I want to have the whole dang preview available in one long, anticipation-filled read.

When finished, you should PDF it into one write up for my viewing pleasure.

Just got a call from someone watching the scrimmage at the Box and Moore is at 3B on the first team today and Hanover is at 2B. Again, who knows what to take from this, but it appears as though Moore's bat is going to be in the lineup.

That was one of the classic baseball threads! Right up there with some of the CG and K-Lady threads.

ETA: my bet is that TH will be back at 3B when the season starts (maybe even tomorrow) and that TM will be at 1B. Mainieri is experimenting now, but it is interesting to guess what the starting lineup will be. As others have said, TM has been hitting very well and he's gonna be in the lineup somewhere.
