I'm tired of hearing about how good our offensive line is going to be "next year". I've been hearing Miles and now Orgeron say this every off season for the last 8 years and every year I'm disappointed. Sorry but I'm not buying it. I hope I'm wrong but I'll wait until the actual season begins to judge how good we are in the trenches.

The o line will be our strongest unit this year. Also, get off the sauce. It’s early and a workday.

I’m with you on that. But I honestly believe our oline talent is truly on the rise from previous years.

Or either they have gotten me again.... dammit

The key will be C and who replaces Clapp and makes the calls for the line.
I think Charles was better at LT than Malone last year.
Sounds like Damian Lewis is getting more pub right now than Traore.

Are you implying LSU hasn't had very good offensive lines in the last 8 years? Almost every one of the past 8 years, we have had zero passing game. We faced more 8 & 9 men in the box than any other team in the country. During that time, we had a very, very strong running game. That is almost impossible to do with no passing threat. Yes, we have had very strong offensive lines the past 8 years. Be bothered about something else.....there are plenty of other things but offensive line isn't one of them.

You need to get your hearing checked. Every chance that Orgeron got last year, he made it painfully clear that the OL was an area of concern. He even said that it would not improve until they recruited better players and planned to address it in through recruiting. There was a reason he signed to JUCO OL to fill immediate needs.

The pass blocking has been less than stellar and we have had trouble moving the ball at times against good defenses that stacked the box, but Fournette and Guice did not set all kinds of records on their own.

I do agree with you that you should just wait until the season starts to judge.

The main thing is I think we have quality depth that we definitely lacked last year. We return 3 starters from last year with guys like Campbell, Magee, Deculus, and Lewis ready to step in if someone were to go down. This is something we didn’t have last year so when guys went down we had to rely on true freshmen to step in. Now those guys are experienced. I think if Cush can make all the calls at C, we will be very solid. Says a lot about our depth when we have a guy come in (Lewis) and push both starting Guards for their spot.

O line is deeper with talent than I can ever remember it. We could field two sec quality o -lines (except center which Lewis would have to move over to cover) in the first time in forever.

LT : Saadiq Charles, Traore
LG: Brumfeild, Campbell
C: Cushenberry, (Cole Smith)
RG: Ingram, Lewis
RT: Deculus, Magee

Also: Cameron Wire and Jakori Savage (who maybe is SEC starter quality right now). Really need to move Rosenthal and Hines to this side of the ball.

We have 9 quality O lineman who could start at a lot of SEC schools (although I don't see a one who would start at Bama this year, their O-line is crazy good this coming season when you look at the names. Might have to wait until we get guys like Kardell Thomas and hopefully Kenyon Green before we can say that)

Ever notice how when something positive is predicted for next season, negative nellies all fall back on the "wait and see" approach? Yet, when something negative is predicted for next season, they all jump on the band wagon?

I believe O on this one due to 3 reasons:

- New OL coach with NFL experience
- 3 freshmen who played a lot last year and gained a lot of experience (Charles, Ingram and Deculus)
- Traore and Lewis (Great Talent to Plug in)
