Even if you thought LSU could have made a better hire, why would you spend all your time knocking him?

you mean like you used to do anytime a thread about the offense under the last regime?

you constantly bashing a very accomplished lsu coach was fine but now that he is gone, questioning the coach is horrible.

quote:

Why not just give him a chance

we did.
in 14 games he took a team with......
52 4 and 5 star athletes
returning all sec rb
highest paid coordinators in cfb
returning senior qb
the easiest schedule in over 20 years

AND HE STILL LOST 4 GAMES.
He is 2-3 against teams with less than 6 losses.

He wasnt hired for a rebuid.
He was hired because he claimed that all we needed was a few tweak to make this team a playoff team.
we know that because he publicly claim that we were going to make the playoffs this past year.
quote:

He isn't going anywhere any time soon no matter how much you bitch about it.

why did you constanly bitch about the last HC?
quote:

Despite their denials, it comes off like they are pulling for coach O to fail.

so what you're sayjng is that when you used to bash Miles, it came off as you wanting Miles to fail?

let me guess....

youre another poster that applies logic to other posters that you don't apply to yourself.

quote:

hey are so enthusiastic about it. Do they realize for O to fail, LSU must fail.

yes we do. which is why we have never rooted against LSU during O's tenure.

its amazing watching posters on here be huge hypocrites in regards to questioning the coach.

When you bashed miles you didnt want lsu to lose.
when we state OBJECTIVE FACTS about O it means we want him to fail at lsu.

do you really not see how hypocritical that is?

Acting like Bill Belichick left the NFL because of O.

This guy is an O crony who has been nothing but an ASSISTANT OL coach in the pros.

If he’s so great, you’d think he’d have been a full OL coach.

His technical job title and salary while in the NFL will be overlooked by most fans. He was never the offensive line coach for any NFL organization but rather the assistant offensive line coach.

LSU hired him as the offensive line coach/running game coordinator with a 2 year contract worth 475K/yr. I'm sure that being in charge of a offensive unit with a pay raise while working with a long time friend are all factors that attributed to his return to the college game.

Having said all that, he's very qualified for his current position and Orgeron made a good hire.

No, but he talks to Him every morning. Seriously, goes out on his balcony overlooking the practice fields and prays for God's blessing...

Cregg has six years of NFL coaching experience to go along with 15 years at the collegiate level.

Cregg moved on to Colgate (2000-03) and Idaho (2004-06), coaching the defensive line at both stops.

At Colgate, Cregg was part of a staff that led the Raiders to the 2003 NCAA Division I-AA championship game. Colgate won 21-straight games during his time on the coaching staff. In four years at Colgate, claimed two Patriot League titles and finished in the top 10 in the nation in rushing defense twice.

In 2009, he was hired to coach the offensive line at the University of Tennessee. That season, the Volunteers allowed just 12 sacks, tied for fewest on the Southeastern Conference.

In 2011, USC finished second in the nation in sacks allowed (eight) despite not starting a senior along the offensive line. Kalil was named first-team All-America, while guard Marcus Martin was chosen as a first-team Freshman All-America.

None of these coaches will determine whether or not O can handle the all in task if running the program. Organizational skills. That's where losing Austin Thomas hurts. Say what you will about the stuff with Thomas lately but here he provided a huge role in recruiting and program organization.
These coaches can help with game stuff. Gameplanning, roster management, who plays and training.

Couldnt agree more, though it is no longer a popular opinion on here. I think we saw evidence with the effect of Thomas leaving on how disorganized recruiting became towards the end of last cycle.

I notice you take breaks from the board - come and go. I always enjoy reading your input and the board is clearly better when you are around. For those of us that have been around long enough, the number of posters with good perspective have been overrun by spill over from the rant.
