Then they would all be calling for Chavis head.

Agree, I was just saying from the beginning that we had a better than good chance to have won the Bama and Clemson game. Had the defense stiffened, just a little, those were W's. I know the offense didnt pull its weight, but the facts are just that. The facts.

Our defense is the only reason we were in the Clemson game. Statistically, Clemson killed us, should've beat us by 2 TDs minimum.

Since you like facts so much, here is a widely held opinion that is arguably a fact: "Offense is the problem."

Who gave us the short field(s) so that we could actually score?

Not really.

Clemson has a functional offense (unlike LSU), one of the best LSU has faced all year. They were going to move the ball, but LSU did a good job of keeping them off the board, til the 4th quarter. Defense did a good job of keeping them from scoring for the most part.

All the offense had to do was get a first down or two in the 4th and this game was over.

That would present a dilemma for the pumpers.

Then we'd be hearing about how 6-7 wins, 4th in the SEC West, plus a bowl berth is the end-all-be-all of LSU football expectations.

It really comes down to this:

The defense could get better and should certainly try to be a more dominant unit, but it is undeniable - utilizing any reasonable objective or subjective form of evaluation - that the defense was good this year, more or less as it has been for a number of years.. The offense, on the other hand, has been downright bad.

And all Clemson's TD's came on drives of 70+ yds says what for the D? It's OK to give up 445 yds, 32 1sts, etc, etc and it's the job of the O to match them?
O and D have a hand in TOP and # of plays. Both were at fault.

It's pretty forgivable if it only amounts to 20-25 points, and you have an offense with a pulse and isn't DOA.

Yep, but the defense has been carrying this team for years, and this year was no different. You'll never get it but that's ok.

A better offense helps the defense. It's all you need to know. Clemson had 13 pts going in the 4th quarter, the Defense had done their job keeping Clemson off the board. All the offense had to do was pick up a first down.

We had less than a 100 yards of offense in the biggest game in LSU history.

We had 200 yards of offense and 8 three and outs against a below average Clemson defense.

Do you really think the O is good to go

The pumpers (Les Miles fans) problem is they know the offense is Miles baby so they don't mind trashing the defense and excusing the offense.

LSU's defense was allowing around 330 yards a game passing after the Bama game, while the offense was throwing for about 250 yards a game. Just saying, this was a different team post-Bama. We could throw in most games, other than Clemson, and the defense couldn't stop anyone. Pre-Bama, we couldn't throw the ball at all and the defense was among the best in the nation.

In beginning to believe y'all try can't fathom the points being made.

When sunshine pampers start defending the offense by attacking the defense they are no longer capable of having any rational thoughts.

Look at the last three "post season" games.

Clemson 9 first downs. 219 yds offense 120 yds pssing

Alabama 3 first downs. 92 yds offense 53 yds passing

UGA 13 1st downs (almost all in second half 1-9 on third down) 230 total yards and 30 passing yards.

In those three games, third down efficiency (6 for 34) is 18%

Because the offense couldn't stay on the field and wore our d out. See the top on the Clemson and UF games. It was the opposite for the Bama game. Poor play calling lost us that one.
