Yep and that's for Harris to mature and develop. Once he does, look out.

I've rewatched the game a couple of times and this was really evident. Negas will say "oh look who we were playing!" BS. We are improving all around and you know they have been working with AJ to fix his shortcomings. Look for a better team Saturday.

Harris has a quick release and throws the ball with some velocity, also has better touch throwing the screens and roll outs. Throws very well on the run. He also is a more effective runner and is much more decisive both in the pocket and when to take off.

Yes to all of this.

But he doesn't have a grasp of the playbook and has a difficult time running the offense efficiently evidenced by the simple mistakes he makes. None of which he showed in the NMSU game. But showed mistakes in the Wisconsin game, the KU game, and a lot in the Auburn game. He's probably showing a lot of mistakes in practice too, thus the lack of playing time.

I know I'll probably get flamed because many people on here think our offense is about as bad as junior high team. But honestly if anyone would watch the games we've played so far we are just so close to being explosive. We constantly have receivers open on every single play and they run beautiful routes. It's old news but if Jennings just had any sense of pocket presence and would scan the field our offense would be putting up huge numbers. Call me stupid or whatever you may please but the proof is on the game film. The o-Line is playing much better, the backs are picking up blocks much better we just need that one guy that will stay in the pocket, look at every receiver and not be afraid of taking a hit in the pocket. Mett was honestly one of the best at not being afraid of taking a hit and that's why we put up big numbers. Sure we had Jarvis and beckham but QB play was the main impact. This offense is close, we just need the last piece of that puzzle.

Can't disagree with anything you said but lets wait till we play a good ole miss defense to see how much we are improving.

Brandon Harris dad got a call from Cam Cameron Monday, saying BH6 should play more this weekend.

Per my dad that works with his dad. What I was told last night. It doesn't mean that he will though. We will just have to see

Agreed. And it all starts up front with the O-line. It's just ashame Jennings is holding the offense back. If he just learned to be more decisive and look for more then 1 WR on a passing play.

I know none of you believe it, but, I can show you that my dad works with him and that I'm telling you all the truth.

I hope you're right. This whole offense reeks of Lesterball though. No flow or tempo, shuffling in different packages only to tip off what you're gonna run, the random substitution pattern of RBs, these are constants that have remained through different OCs. The babying of the QBs seems to come with this Lesterball crap. I can't help but believe that after 8 games Harris would be a functional QB under different circumstances or even AJ. And surely after 3 years in the system we should have been able to cut JL or JJ loose. I think we're retarding the growth of our QBs somehow.

This, our biggest problem this year is no QB. Both will get enough experience in losing this year to be much better next year. I like Les but he just is not able to coach up QB's at LSU.

It would help if he trusted his qbs to run the offense. They have no ownership. They cant call plays or audibles it doesnt seem.

Also, it would probably help their maturation if they werent scared to death of being benched after throwing an INT

We are better. Alexander is now healthy, Porter is back and getting line in sync and Pocic is mauling people.

Its all about the QB with LSU.

You have access to the coaches tape? I can't see receivers getting open on the broadcast because they only show the lines and follow the ball.

An intercepted third down bomb is basically equivalent to a punt.
This is the one that gets me. If it's 3rd and long between the 40s, sling the rock downfield! Worst case scenario (i.e., INT) it's equivalent to a short/medium punt. Take a chance on those plays - there's a lot to gain and nothing to lose.

True enough, but what if the QB cannot get them the ball? Doesn't matter that they are running free in the secondary.

I would like to share your optimism but think having a short field was the only real difference.

scoring drivers were 29, 48, 53, 37, 64, and 53 yards plus the punt return.

UK had horrible field position all night with the exception of the second squib kick they actually recovered at the end of the first half.

Our QB completed passes (3) to one WR. He also completed passes the TE and different RB's. That is horrible.

McGee was able to break a few decent runs. But if LF was only able to avg 2.7 yards per carry against UK, I'm not sure the offense is as close as you think.

I would agree if you said Special Teams improved for UK. Beckwith's playing time and contributions were a HUGE improvement.

Hopefully Coach Miles and staff prove you to be correct.
