The Good.
Very good offensive showing from our guards.
Brandon Sampson had a great showing with nearly posting a triple double.
Waters, hampered by a lil ankle sprain, dished out nearly 10 assists. His assist to turnover ratio will be one of the best in the SEC.
Skylar didn't have many assists but looked great from the 3 point line.
Reath had a pretty good offensive performance, however didn't get as many touches as I'd like to see in the post.
Rachal will be a great defensive guard and can guard 1-2-3. He also had double digits.
The Bad
Team struggled on the defensive end in the second half and Will Wade was not happy about it at all. We have got to get better on the glass. Wade will do his best to get this team to play harder on defense. My biggest concern will be how will we stop teams with multiple big guys down low. Reath is realy all we have on the block. I'm a fan of Epps but he just doesn't have the body to defend on the block. He's going to help a little and Jeremy Combs is going to help a little, but we will struggle against teams with depth and talent at the PF and center position.
Also, does anyone know why Randy Onwuasor didn't get any minutes last night? Mayan Kiir also didn't play in the first two games. Is he hurt? Will he redshirt? I also assume Galen will be brought along slowly from his injury. Last week he looked to be a very athletic wing in limited minutes.
I'm anxious to see this team Monday night against much stiffer competition "Michigan".

The defensive effort was there, but to their credit Samford hit like 90% from 3 in the second half
Posted on 11/17/17 at 8:29 am to PT24-7
Will Wade said it himself the defensive effort was not there in the second half and he will not accept the effort on the defensive end in the second half. We gave up 28 points in the first half and 58 points in the second half. Have to clean it up.

Good write up.
This isn't a complete team and it won't be all year. LSU is limited in the front court and there no way to get additional bodies down there. It will be interesting to see if Wade uses more zone defense as the competition increases. Rebounding is going to be worrisome all season. You'd like to see Reath become much more involved there, but it just doesn't look like he's a great rebounder. Credit Sampson for picking up the slack. Also, LSU seemed to fall in love with the 3 point shot. That may be ok at home, but it will be hard to duplicate on the road. Then again, because they are so limited inside, we may just have to live and die by the 3 ball.
You left out one "great" -- FT shooting 19-20 for 95%! That's how you get a ~20 point win vs. an opponent who actually shot well (50% from the field and 3 point range). This game is MUCH closer if LSU doesn't have an incredible night at the FT line

absolutely great effort from the free throw line. We haven't been good from the free the line in over a decade.

Quote from Will Wade.
I like to hear that he's pissed that his team gave up that many.
Will Wade must have not watched any of LSU's games last year.

58 points, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a team give up 58 points in a half. That’s what you should give up for a game.

They are talking about redshirting him, he's just not close to ready to play Division I basketball. VERY raw

Coach Wade is going to do great things at LSU. I respect a man and a team that strives to perform better and improve.
Really excited to see how this program evolves over the next few seasons. I love the energy and the anticipation.
