With LSU announcing Doug Nussmeier as an analyst, you have to think that LSU is using him as leverage to go after a QB. Steve Ensminger simply doesn't have the established relationship with highly sought-after QB recruits, so LSU needs to get that leverage from somewhere. Otherwise, be banished to hoping to land the leftovers from the QB-rich. Enter Nussmeier.

Michael Johnson Jr. is the only kid (that I know of) who has Nussmeier ties and has shown interest in LSU. Johnson camped at Next Level while Nuss was at UF.

Is 2019 going to be the year of Nuss? Will Johnson be the face of the franchise going into the next decade? Time will tell.

/ridiculous, way-too-early offseason speculation

You put a lot of thought into that. Sorry to inform you analysts cannot have direct contact or involvement with players.

Analysts can't coach players, this has nothing to do with getting any recruits. I do see LSU bringing him in now with intentions on elevating him to a staff position next year.

If Nuss is ever out OC we are completely fricked. Even more than we are fricked now.

This is nothing more than a rehab job for Nussmeier.
He gets paid his buyout from Florida this year.
