quote:I really will never get this boards infatuation with running QBs. It’s not like any of LSUs NCs were won by running QBs.
But.....But..... But..... he's not very good because he can't run. Morons.

Joe Burrow was a great runner.
The majority of QBs that have led their team to the CFB playoff have been mobile QBs.
It's not some secret this is a successful model.

3 of them were run by mobile QBs. Mauck, Flynn, and Burrow.
When people say Nuss needs to improve, they mean to get to that level.

CBK can coach QBs.

Burrow was our 2nd leading rusher in 2019

I am at my laptop now so I was able to look up some non-volume stats.
Passing Efficiency: 35
YPA: 60
YPC: 91
And yes he's #1 in completions, but he's 7th in attempts. We are throwing a TON this year (due to our running game issues for the 3rd year in a row of Kelly's tenure).

He had a better QB the 2 years prior, but other than that? You may have to go back to Dan LeFevour's first year in 2006 (but I think we'd all take Nuss)

Why take hits he doesn’t need to?

Not always

He can slide

I just looked at his stats again (you know the ones the Heisman voters look at), and he only has 2 INTs. Neither one went for a TD. Yet you claim he has thrown 2
Dude be real he threw 2 pick 6s and was bailed out by god awful calls

Who said anything about taking hits?
Good, mobile QBs slide. Not sliding was JD's biggest issue, but he was also a legit running threat not just a mobile QB.

Just imagine if Nuss had 1 first rd WR to throw to like during the bowl game. Lacy doesn't even look like a 3rd rounder

Hopefully Hilton coming back opens up the passing.
We severely lack explosive plays right now.

even without Hilton this is a pretty damn good WR group. They cannot even get Zavion Thomas snaps.
The OC and QB are not fully elevating them like they could be.

Two were broken up by DBs. Lacy has been fine.
He had a 3rd down drop in the hands that killed a drive. And your WR1 should be able to fight off a little hand contact on that slant in the end zone. He should have brought that one in.
It wasn’t a disaster, but it was his poorest game of the season when he had been playing with very sure hands in the previous three.

Last year those would’ve been irrefutable drops and damn near cause to be thrown off the team in his view. But now since it’s Nuss reality has been inverted.

What does last year have to do with a discussion about a game yesterday?

What do you guess it would be if he was throwing to Nabers and Thomas.
Indeed. He's working with a lesser reciever group.
He's ahead in his first year starting than Burrow or Daniels were at LSU

lol. Watch the play from the skyline view. This is a crazy take on what was an excellent defensive play
