after going to almost every game since '01, i've only gone to one game this season. after the game in orlando, i couldn't stand anymore. i'm sick of going to games and hearing people complain the entire time. it's just not fun anymore. frankly, my life has been better since i quit sitting around a bunch of miserable people, unrealistic losers who nitpick every little thing including facial expressions. but, i do miss the excitement of games like auburn '01, georgia '03, florida '07, va tech '07, etc.

i noticed last night that there was a packed house and incredible excitement at va tech. this is for a team that lost to JAMES MADISON a few games ago. now, lsu fans would gripe about going undefeated.

the only reason i visit this board is to keep up with news. unfortunately, i can't stop trying to inject some rationality every once in a while.

If you had the ability to think in context, you would know they are just finding things that are visible to pick on because they are unhappy with the program. This isn't the fan's fault, it's the coaches fault. Most people don't want to put down the program because they love it, so they fixate on something like how stupid Les looks on the sidelines. In reality, they hate where the program is going.

If we had that type of team and that type of coaching, the excitement would come back. Do you not realize that the fans excitement is a direct correlation of the teams performance?

No, it's not hard at all.

Now, it might be hard for players to understand a fan being unable to get excited over a team which has done what it has to do to be 7-1, 11th ranked, but hopefully they will not allow that to impact their desire to keep on keeping on for us.

I've actually been excited every week for the last couple of years. Here recently, meh.

You guys basically have conceded the season and it's pretty much bled over to everyone else.

FWIW, the only thing I have conceded is 3 losses, not the "season". This was my preseason pick. The product on the field is not fun to watch, hence the "concession". It's hard to get excited when you know the game is either going to be a nail biter when it shouldn't be, full of mistakes or coaching blunders, or the result of a bad performance. The only thing I'm conceding is my enjoyment, but that doesn't mean that the team won't win the majority of it's games.

I won't lie. The more I read this board, the more uninterested I become with the team as a whole. I know "you shouldn't let other people determine how you feel about football!" Man, reading alot of this repetitive garbage over and over again takes alot out of you. It's hard to get excited about something when all people do is say that the football team is done. They'll never win.

It really does get tiresome. I started reading this board b/c it has fast info and BR radio couldn't talk about a breaking story if their life depended on it. But now it's just people bitching to bitch

while the level of bitching may rise and fall at times, many LSU fans are never happy...hence the old saying...

I'll point back to the posts on here after the 2003 BCS game vs. Oklahoma saying that LSU players cramping was inexcusable...

this year is my first year outside the student section. I've sat in just about every area of the stadium so far and EVERY single game its negative all around me. You cannot honestly tell me you cheer when you see JJ throw a dumb pass and get picked off, or fumble the ball, take a sack, etc...and then see him trot out on the next series. You cannot tell me you get excited when you see us run a draw play on 2nd and 10 or 3rd and long.

The FANS this year have made me want to leave early every single game. NOT the team, but the FANS. The state of our fanbase is at an all decade low.

Hey, I was positive throughout all of 2008 and most of 2009, fighting the negatigers every step of the way. I probably have 5,000 posts defending Les Miles and the program. I went to the dark side now and feel much better.

We seem to get more people bitching about the fans and other threads on the rant than any other.

You should get this stickied this so that you and others do not start another.

The state of our coaching is at a decade low. Les Miles is not just looking like a clown this year but coaching like one. Every time I see JJ start the game I am immediately less hopeful for our chances. This is a huge game this week and the "terrible fans" will be louder than they have been in years. Fans have the right to be discouraged by JJ starting, he has done NOTHING to deserve it. Sell your tickets to a real fan if you dont want constructive criticism to cross your virgin ears.

so everything would be better with Lee starting??

what you should be discouraged about is why the offense has sucked for 3 years in a row...JJ is only a minor symptom of the overall problem. In fact, I would say the staff has done a pretty damn good job of getting to 7-1 with this offense. The question is why is it in this shape to begin with?

Do you realize team performance has LSU ranked in the top 10 in the BCS???

I know LSU football has spoiled us, but this entitlement mindset of some of us is getting a tad out of hand.

This isn't the fan's fault

Yeah, the poor put upon LSU fan. How dare them be expected to get up for their Top 10 BCS team playing another Top 10 BCS team in Tiger stadium. Will such high expectations of the LSU fan never end?

may be a good sign...the board was like this leading up to Florida, and we won. Then before Auburn it turned to "we're going to kick Auburn's arse", and we lost.

True, and the reactions the following week(s) were directly related to the expectations.

right...
If you're one of these fans, and you damn well KNOW what to expect, yet you buy tickets anyway, why dont you just stay the frick home and bitch in your livingroom. I never said anything about us not having the right to bitch and complain so your post is irrelevant.

you cannot deny that the negativity of our fanbase is at the worst it has been since the 90's. It may certainly be just a product of even worse coaching, but you still cannot deny it.
