I listen to sports radio in Shreveport all day and 9/10 local talking heads say Etling should be QB1 going forward, and Harris' confidence is shot

The show at issue is well known for heaping love on local players, some of whom call in to the show (or did years ago when I listened).

Because no one up there matters. Hardly anyone in Shreveport has connections or is "in the know" with LSU. It's a bunch of Louisiana Tech, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Ole Miss (for the sole saving grace- south Shreveport) baboons.
Look around. It's a bunch of hicks off Old Mooringsport Road, meth heads chilling off Mansfield Road, and trash on Walker Road.

I put 75-80% on the coaching considering our passing game has consistently been ranked in the 100s with multiple QBs - the rest I'd put on the QB.
We're 121st in passing right now, we finished 106th last year and 116th the year before. The highest we've finished since 2010 was 45th and that was with Mett, two of the best WRs any team could ever have (and one of the best RBs). Our 2nd highest finish since 2010 was 94th in passing in 2012. We have ranked in the 100s for all the other years. We're LSU - we don't get scrub players. That tells me the coaching is a problem in that area.

Oddly enough, though I do not know very many people, I DO know someone very close to Harris's OC at Parkway. He (my acquaintance) is an apologist to the umpteenth degree. In fact, I am convinced that the OC posts here. Personally, I believe he would succeed in an offense more tailored to his abilities, but that is NOT LSU's offense and has been discussed ad nauseum.
BTW, Parkway has a very talented QB this year who is performing well, so if you are reading this (Parkway OC), no one blames you

There are thousands of Shreveport area butts in the seats of every game in Tiger Stadium. Over 50% of the names on the West side of Tiger Stadium are from Shreveport, just to name a few instances. No one here is suggesting B Harris is 1st team SEC based on what he's done. A lot of people here saw what kind of player he was in HS and what kind of person he is off the field. Nothing wrong with supporting him whether he's the starter or the backup.

I hate when the rantards bash anyone in N LA and it happens frequently. No wonder LSU has a more difficult time pulling kids from there.
